Void Elf Warlock Noob questions

Hey so I am a totally beginner RP-er. I Rp a lot with my friends, transferred from horde etc went velf.

I am realizing that RP is requiring A LOT of research xD Which I am fine with, I was wondering though if anyone had any tips on RP-ing a void elf warlock.

I am trying to kind of swing my character to a non-evil character if anyone has any tips on that too if there is a way to do it lore-wise. As I said I am really new so any help at ALL is appreciated.

In regard to making a non-evil Warlock, while Warlocks are often typically motivated to follow that path for power, some also do so for knowledge. One example of this is Daio the Decrepit, a former Mage who sought to better understand Demons and Fel after an incident involving them.

The quest for particular knowledge, be it through a similar inciting incident, legacy or pure fascination or curiosity, is a simple but elegant and flexible motive for such a character; baring multiple potential ways of approach.

While not always entirely necessary, it may help consider other aspects of the character’s personality and background first and adapt the rest into what you have. Elements like race and class are after all only parts of a greater whole. Configuring other aspects first may help to inform the rest, hopefully making for easier generation going forward.

Another angle you could take is within the Void Elf quest line. The group following Umbric (mages and warlocks) started looking into void magic because they thought it’s essential to safeguard Silvermoon against further threats, and then switched that to the Alliance and Azeroth as a whole. So they have good intentions.

After they changed into Void Elves, the original Blood Elves Warlocks call themselves “Rift Wardens”. That could be another angel to start with. Which would fit well with what Yonara mentioned for example.
