Void Elf Racial Active Ability - redo for War Within

Worse than Nightborne’s mailbox?

You not understanding it has a specific niche in PvP and is an amazing racial is not on the game, nor does that mean it should be fixed. Void elf racial is fantastic in the arena. Some racials are better in certain content fields. Void elf racial has never been very applicable in PvE unless the encounter is scripted with map design in mind. Then it is useful. It’s a lot of fun to use in PvP. It’s fine that it’s more suited for PvP.

Im torn on the racial we have.

On the one hand, its stupid, pointless, and useless.

On the other hand, when you find a use for it, its so freaking useful.
Just a shame this happens like once every 6 months lol

Personally I wish Spatial Rift worked like the Void Dash ability Alliance players are granted temporarily by Umbric during one part of the BfA war campaign.

The only problem I have with it is that it takes like seven clicks/button presses to use it.

1 to activate the ability, 2 to designate a starting point, 3 to designate an end point, 4 to prep the ability, 5 to open the portal, 6 to teleport, 7 to close the portal, and 8 to fill out the post-teleport survey for quality control. Compared to something straightforward like blink it’s a bit excessive.

If their teleport was targeted it would be much more useful.

Waiting for the port to get far away is ridiculous

Just make it a purple door of shadows and call it a day

Think this would be a huge improvement

Nah, because then it would have a cast time and be pretty bad. It’s great for arena as is. You always win the pillar war with it. It goes: cast rift on one sideof the pillar, then chase your target around the other side, then pop up right in front of their face. That doesn’t work with a cast time and you would also need LoS to get thru the pillar when you don’t with current rift. Also, if you’re on the bridge in blade’s edge and someone tries the jump off the bridge then back up trick, you can keep on them by casting rift at the top of the bridge, chasing them down, then if/when they hop back up you press rift again and you’re also back on the bridge. The delay makes that possible, same with the pillar move.

I would argue Lightforged Draenei’s Anvil is worse. Especially now that there are things you specifically need to be at the blacksmithing bench for.

Here’s what you do with Spatial Rift: PvP, get entangled then beamed by a boomie, Spatial Rift out, profit.

A 20% wall for 10 seconds on a 2 minute cooldown is insane.

I don’t think the racial really needs changing. They get their additional throughput with their passive, which isn’t a lot but shouldn’t be either.

Plus, I just think it’s too cool of a racial to use in PVP. It has applications in PVE as well, it just requires some prescience on when to use it.

…It’s 2 buttons. You push it once. It flies in a straight line. You push it again to teleport when it hits a point you like.

Did they remove the survey? Must’ve been changed since last I used it.

I actually hate the passive that makes me turn all shadow-y and purple-y.

:dracthyr_nod:

They have the damaging pillar of light thing.

And Nightborne have Arcane Pulse. They both have a on-use racial for combat purposes.

Oh, I forgot that one.

It’s not useless. It’s situationally very useful, but the situations where it is useful aren’t common this expansion, as there isn’t anything quite like the Xymox seeds.
