Void Elf Paladin make a lot of sense

Not necessarily. The live game still has NPCs clearly marked “High Elf” with blue eyes. Having the same body model does not make them the same race.

If a Paladin wanted more power to defend Azeroth and thought that they could balance the two forces, why not?

Void Elves are High Elves.

Well as an actual fan of High Elves I’ll stick to playing the race the devs have stated are High Elves, control the kingdom, the Sunwell, the Capital City, and whose heritage quests reinforce the fact they are High Elves and changed their named to honor their fallen.

I mean . . . with current lore (with how PAINFULLY little there actually is) doesn’t completely support it . . . HOWEVER with the influx of high (and even some blood) elves joining in and them canonically not doing the ritual that make the initial group of thalassians into a buncha blue and purple helluv a elves coupled with Blizzard saying they are slowly dropping the race restrictions (taking the time to make the more lore strict ones make sense) its only a matter of time . . . I just hope the void elf paladin mount is a.) a hawkstrider and b.) comes in two colors for both void and high elves (the hawkstrider bit should keep them more unique compared to the blood elf red and copper horse)

oh, you mean the thing Ion walked back on saying the blood elves are something “more” now? (whatever the Hell Michigan that means) yea no the “true” high elves are the ones either currently following Vereesa, the ones chilling at Quel’danil, Farstrider Lodge, Allerian Stronghold, or in other parts of Alliance territory . . .

That’s political, not biological.

I wrote what I wrote precisely because I read what you said.

Shadow Priests can now learn dozens of Holy- and Light-themed spells and cast them all while in Shadowform or Voidform (or Dark Ascension).

This sounds exactly to me like being Void-fused while also wielding the Light. With the new talent system revamp, it goes beyond a mere “connection”.

c’mon, you should get the same amount of pally mounts as anyone else

I’d imagine it’d be like the two versions humans, blood elves, draenei, and tauren get, only its the same model recolored instead of an “elite” and “non elite” version.

also to compensate dark iron, bronzebeard, and lightforged paladins they should get a less armored variant of their paladin mounts

Y’all need to learn the difference between an entire class’s lore implications, and not excluding a single spec from a class for the sake of gameplay fairness

Then you clearly didn’t understand it.

Priests wield power. Paladins have a connection to the Light, which they use to call upon it. Anduin literally tells you this.

Priests are not Paladins. One uses a power they can simply get their hands on. The other must have a connection to it in order to call upon it.

In fairness, I think it’s less that the void can’t use the Light, and more that doing so has…“explosive” consequences

Honestly, it’s more that the Light isn’t going to listen to a chaotic Void infused being.

Also fair.

I’d like to state again that is discourse is irrelevant as they are slowly tearing down the barriers anyway so void elf paladins ARE coming.

sorry folk who thought it only meant draenei warlocks, blood elf druids, and undead paladins but the walls are coming down for everyone, and despite me not liking the ones I just listed this is in fact a GOOD thing.

They don’t seem to comprehend that gameplay mechanics do not equal lore.

It’s not irrelevant. Because without this type of conversation, we end up with stupidity and not lore-friendly reasons.

Thus why I keep saying: class skins.

Subjective. Homogenization of all cultures is bad, imo.

Not cool, not cool at all.

This is what I’d like to see. Could be applied to a few races as well. Forsaken, void elves, worgen, Orcs and Mag’har all use shadowcaster type units.

Easy enough for em to put on some armor and use the same tool set as paladin with a skin on it.

Just make purple colorations of the spells and rename them on the tooltips.

whats not cool about it? I mean yea I hate the prospect but I ain’t gonna throw a hissy fit over it, and if they can give a good, justifiable lore based reason for it all the better.

think less homogenization and more expanding culture, which would work even better if class skins were a thing (would also help with older race class combos like tauren paladins and such)
