Yea just puffing up my chest, oh look at me I’m a zealous lunatic.
On a more serious note the whole Night Warrior thing I felt could have been something of a gateway for Night elf Paladins, and as much as Delas is absolutely hated for betraying her people I felt that she could have at least brought knowledge of Paladin combat arts to help train these Knights of Elune.
Well sheesh look at you making tons of sense. Do you by chance want a job as a blizzard developer? You’d probably do better then half of them with that 1 idea alone.
Pretty sure I’d be fired within minutes.
LOL you and me both
I “leave” in an era of sanity where you don’t get what you want just by asking for it for years, at least not without any strings attached.
I don’t need to get over anything. I wish the people asking for void elves to get more high elf things would get over their own lust for one of the most basic races you could give to a faction that’s already struggling with its own unpopularity and stigma.
Here we get to the victim complex-induced labeling.
The “antis” are the ones who are tired of void elves getting something every other patch and the people who support them still asking for Blizzard to tack more and more additions onto them over races that actually need more customization. At some point, you have to put your foot down.
But you still do? That’s presently your one and only option. Void elf paladins haven’t been confirmed for this expansion or the one after it, so thinking that they’re coming in the near future is just self-delusion that may or may not amount to nothing. If it does, y’all can go sit with the Alliance sethrak crowd, who went through the same thing.
Not confirmed. See above.
Regular paladins for void elves are an oxymoron. That’s why people pitch void paladins, which as a tradeoff would require a tremendous amount of work just to make an exact copy of an existing class for a race that ordinarily can’t be the latter.
There is no mass contingent of high elf paladins because paladins aren’t a major high elf thing, and no high elf or blood elf paladins would ever align with the void elves because paladins aren’t priests and they largely would never study the antithesis of the Light. Both of these have been pointed out in this thread.
Then, by definition, they shouldn’t be considered void elves since the Void alters their very beings. That’s the difference between a void elf and a Shadow priest.
I don’t know what you were hoping to accomplish by going off on your insufferable caustic tirade, but it sure as hell didn’t change my opinion on void elves getting any form of paladins, and probably worsened it.
At this point. If we have undead priest’s. We should have priest and paladin void elves.
LF can be Shadow Priest
Zero reason Void Elf cant be Paladin
Adding my support for Void Elf Paladins.
Ion said it could happen someday, and then Holinka stated their broad goal is to take away class restrictions from races so that anyone can play any class as any race.
Don’t see what there is to debate over in terms of it happening or not, it will.
More of a question of when and what lore they’ll ascribe to explain it (if even), they didn’t use lore to explain Orc Priests or Tauren Rogues or Draenei Rogues suddenly popping up so it truly does not matter: not every addition needs an explanation.
It’s just like how Wildhammer dwarf customization came even though they will wear Mountain Dwarf heritage armor - not everything in the game is going to make sense when it comes to allowing more player customization.
Thank goodness Blizzard sees it that way in terms of allowing more freedom to players than being bogged down to an artificial universe.
this basically and since priests and rogues now get to be any class combo they want void elves should too !
#VOIDELFPALADINS
I hope they do lore for it.
A rift blade paladin using void would be very neat. An entire order of knights following the void in a similar way to the paladins of Azeroth to defend it filled by void elves, Forsaken, worgen and Orcs would be very fun.
Makes about as much sense as a Void Elf infused with the power of the light, which by the way, all paladins do, not priests, will explode. Thanks for creating another Twisting Nether.
Until Blizzard decides to give them a void spec to compliment Shadow Priest’s existence, then I’ll be more inclined to accept.
yes to void elf paladins
they should be soon, since they are unlocking all races to be all classes gradually. hype
Paladins aren’t infused with the light though. Just like Priest, they actually use the light in the same way, just take extra training to use swords and wear plate armor.
I am a lore fiend and would very much love it if they incorporate proper lore into the expanded classes, especially as they know which ones are more lore heavy (Paladin, Shaman, Druid)
this is what i want T_T
Tbh I think the more standard name would be good ol’ fashion Anti-Paladin:
“Riftblade” is a void elf specific thing.
Whoops, my holy priest exists.
I was referring specifically to Rift blades in that bit.
I imagine void knight or some version of that would be the “orders” general term for void using knights/paladin of void.
The thing is that there is no such thing as a velf holy priest in lore, sure we players can play one due to the shadow spec.
That said, we should really get class skins and a void skin for paladins (among others) would be great, and make a perfect fit for void elves.
(Also where are my nelf and KT paladins blizz)
I really hope thats in the cards down the line.
Versions of skins for Night Elf Paladins and Kul’tiran ones (though KT wouldn’t technically need any.) would be amazing as well!
