More aesthetics and animations and less about ratials.
Make one of each, do a class trial so you are higher level, and see what you like more in terms of armor looks and animations. Shouldnt take too long to check out the animations. Personally I would probably go night elf because things are more in proportion to me, but you have to look at it so its ultimately your choice.

I’d say Night elf purely for that.
For some odd reason, I find Night Elves more appealing than Blood/Void Elves.
Maybe they have more meat in contrast to Blood/Void Elf models.

NE all the way. Armour fits so nicely on them and the huge weapons look not as ridiculous on them. Also shadowmeld is nice.

I agree with this, though I do find the “bounce bounce” animation annoying at times considering I’m a Zombie Elf.

You poor fools are missing out on 40 strength, a free heal, a free lockpick, a bootleg fade and don’t need to be next to a blacksmithing anvil to do your profession stuff or use any profession items.
But I respect other racials though. Orcs make powerful Death Knights.
If you plan on using 2H, go female dranei/lfd. Their weapon animation is the best, specially using axes. The way they do their hard attack wielding shadowmourne it’s precious
Its kind of funny how the OP gave 2 options that they are considering, Void Elf or Night Elf, and people are off saying other races that arent actually helping them to make a decision. There are 2 options, Orc wasnt one of them, Draenei wasnt one of them or any other race.

Planning on race changing to Nelf on a melee char at somepoint. Their animations are sick.
Void elf/blood elf melee animations suck. Only referring to females of course, don’t even think of being a male elf of any sort.
Join the superior faction and roll a female blood elf or orc.

I have a void elf with gray hair and I use the Crown of Eternal Winter helm mog. I love the way her hair covers a small part of the frozen skeleton face that pops up. Void elf females kind of tilt their heads to the side a bit too so it is a very dark DK vibe…like…I know how easy it would be for me to kill you .
