Got two
Xurael
Xeloth
Which just sounds better?
(Unknown what class I’ll make, currently it’s a toss up with Priest, Warlock and Rogue, maaaaybe Mage but I already got a Blood elf Mage so that’d be odd)

First one is neuter
Second one is male
Up to you.
Note: also names ending in -ael are usually Judeo-Christian since that suffix means “of the lord,” I think in Hebrew but don’t quote me on the language.
Why not name it Boido? It is Japanese for Void.
I try and make an effort to remain true to cultural naming conventions within the game universe.
I recommend you make em a Priest i suppose that is a neat combo with that race.
I like Xurael better. I prefer a more Thalassian name though. But if you are trying to capitalize on the Void theme then i suppose that would be nice.
Because that’s a Japanese spinoff of the word Void from English.
Non-traditional Japanese words are usually borrowed from English.
Any elven sounding name would work. They’re just blood elves that tapped into the void, their origins remain the same
That’s sort of the idea, like the character was reborn from the Void so decided to abandon his former name for one that reflects his new lot in life.
Also while yes Shadow Priest does make the most sense Priests still have light based spells and there doesn’t seem to be a class theme for priests like how Void elf Warlocks are “Riftwardens” or Warriors Veiled Riftblades, Rogues are Ghostblade Scouts, Mages are Locus Researchers and Hunters are Umbral Rangers.
Just what ever people do, do not name a Void Elf Sylvanas. We do not want an apocalypse. Sylvanas Windrunner was bad enough.
I had a huntress who went DK in the 3rd war who made and used high end ballistic scopes before she died. (Yes this was written before Gnomes got Hunters in game) Gnomes usually change their surnames in adulthood to match their best accomplishments.
Sorassa Lensmark became Sorassa Blackmark.
So mild changes work splendidly in my opinion.
I’d go with Priest regardless.
But a lock or mage would be pretty neat considering their racial traits.
I really like this one.
(In my mind it’s pronounced ‘ZurAelle’, is this how you say it?)
Zur-ā-el
Would be my guess by its spelling. Emphasis on the Zur.
Yeah, Gairaigo is the term of borrowed word in Japanese, and is actually a feigned work of original of English and other European Languages actually.
In all honesty I had the name Xurael saved for the longest time but looking at it and sounding it out was a bit of a chore which is why I constructed Xeloth.
It’s a hard consonant followed by soft vowels, it’s not the most elegant angelic name I’ve heard.
does the X make the 'eks" sound or the Z sound?
Think it’s a hard Z in Xurael and a soft z in Xelloth.
i vote for “knockoffbelf” to be the name lol
That’s what I thought but I do like the sound of EKSurael its pretty and rolls off the tongue.
