Great news! The list is getting pretty small but we pretty much have the base “High Elf” package now!
And Black/White work great for Void Elves to boot!
Void Elf/High Elf Ideas- -Lore
Some Lore showing that High Elves and Void Elves are merging/interacting in some way.
More lore involving Void Elves.
-Tendrils
The upcoming Tendril Toggle should have a similar function as Night Elf Vines. Adding/removing Tendrils for all Haircuts. This allows for more variety by more haircuts with or without tendrils.
Options to change the Affects on Tendrils. Like Glowing/Transparent/Corrupted.
-Markings/Corruption
Markings like Alleria. This allows players to have the “Alleria Fantasy” for both Void Elves and High Elves.
Void Marks/Scars.
Entropic Embrace customizations. Like Changing/Disabling the effects.
Seems we are mostly just working out the void stuff going forward.
I’d like to see this happen. Not only would it create some differentiation between Alliance High Elf NPC’s and Blood Elf NPC’s and player Blood Elves, but it would also provide a visual connection between the Alliance High Elf NPC’s, the Void Elf NPC’s and the player Void Elves, both those using High Customizations and those using the original Void-themed Customizations.
I won’t oppose anyone’s requests for this or that customization option. I just personally would prefer that if we get more hairstyles, that they be either brand new (and work for either theme), or they be shared from any race but Blood Elves.
There’s a lot of great hairstyles we could get from Humans or Kul Tirans for example.
Right? It would be a quick way of portraying an actual aesthetic and cultural difference between High Elves and Blood Elves that doesn’t exist right now, even if it is something as subtle as “they prefer different hairstyles”
VE’s do need more Hairstyles, and long ones specially, but I do hope actual dev resources are spent on a more Void focused aesthetic overhaul.
Although of course I just support a racial hair swap party.
Same. Overall I just think a big ol’ hair swap would be great, just like it was in Cataclysm.
If not that, swapping hairstyles between Allied and Core races would be relatively easy, but I WOULD prefer if BE swapped with Nightborne, and VE with Night Elves.
The connection between the last two is more tenuous, but I do think their hairstyles could compliment each others. The more sleek VE would serve that Highborne aesthetic, and the NE ones could serve that more wild aesthetic that Alleria portrays.
It’s about time we all set aside our differences. We’re only using like, half of Silvermoon, anyway, maybe we can let the Revantusks move in to the other half? Aren’t we all family in the Horde? Put some nice hardy conifers in there and we’ve got ourselves a lovely Solarpunk district.
Revantusk are already part of the Horde and a blood elf was involved in them taking Jintha’alor. Don’t think the Blood Elves mind forest trolls in the Horde.
Wow! Nice to see Black/White/Brown hair added as well.
I’m very happy with the High Elf customizations for Void Elves. A good delivery on the assets that were long overdue! Would be nice going forward to see some more hair styles. Even if they’re ported over from other Alliance races as well as Alleria style tattoos/warpaint.
People are getting really good also at the transmog to suit the High Elf fantasy too, but honestly, I am happy we’re finally given these options. After all, these are the closet we’re going to get for having Alliance High Elves.
Only thing left to request for is more hair styles and Entropic Embrace racial customisations.
For me personally the final customization pieces pertaining to High Elf is warpaint and feathery hair accessories (which I suppose that can be included under hairstyles) a la Alleria.
But honestly I’m ok waiting for those to come for a long while with what’s been given now in 9.1.5.
Oh, I forgot about the Warpaint and Feather accesories. I should say they are needed too
But what I am saying, after 15+ years, the High Elf community has finally got there Alliance High Elves. Though it is through terms of customisations, but in the end, it is better than having nothing, and I am glad to be apart of the community to receive these options.
