Void Elf Customizations?

Sledge just tanks with that ancient Ironforge shield. At least it’s simple and looks like a real shield.

I’d love to see some graphical updates to the older stuff.

I am well. I start my Staycation soon, so just got to get through work this week.

It’s sound enough logic that I would allow it if I was running a game of DnD.

I’m playing a non void skinned void elf myself right now. Though, I haven’t written up a backstory yet. I just wondered if they’d make any new mention. It doesn’t seem likely to have void elves use the same process to make more of their kind, but… Alleria’s transition seems too farfetched for new void elves, so I do wish there was a bit more explanation.

For transparency purposes, High elves are my least favorite elf type in this story. I liked that WoW stepped away from traditional Tolkien elves. That said, I think there is story and if someone wants to rp/headcanon a Helf, I don’t see what issue there is. Long as it makes some sense.

Was this actually stated yet, or is that the idea based on the NPC changes? Honestly want to know.

I don’t know if it would affect the levels of crazy, after all even with all her special circumstances, Alleria still deals with heavy whispers. But then with that in mind, it would justify a whole new batch of customizations…

Sigh

Yeah but like I mentioned with Turalyon, the guy is not even the same race, and he leads them. Unlike the Forsaken, the LF don’t come from different backgrounds.

Options are always good, my main issue is when those options start stepping on the uniqueness of others.

With my level of faith in blizzard, I’ll wait and see and try not to get my hopes up… but yes, I want that badly.

This this this this this. I even share a birthday with Tolkien, so he should be my spirit animal, but I don’t want to see his archetypes always manifest in other worlds and stories.

Why have High Elves (which… hey, we already have on the Horde) when you can have Dark Elves, Winged Elves, Aquatic Elves, Half Elves, Wood Elves, etc?

Oh hey, something we agree on.

But to be honest, at the very least when it comes to Forsaken, for all I know we already got our “heritage armor”.

That Darkshore set it’s absolute perfection.

(Clarification): There is no post or lore to explain the new customizations the way I have discussed thus far. All we know about those are that they’re meant to enable the High Elf aesthetic. Rather, I was discussing why new Void Elves might look more like Alleria than Umbric using logic derived from lore.

Before we seen them for the first time in argus, there was several flavor text through out the game of them being a diverse army, I’d personally would like to see that in game. Most possibly via a unlock quest chain like the night warriors.

I’m a night elf gal myself. Or troll, if I’m feeling like sassing WoW elf phylogenetics.

I actually have fewer short elves of either side than pandaren. And I don’t have that many pandaren. But I like customization and I like lore, and 90% of the time this is a fun, low stress discussion.

You are my Hero once-removed.

We need…

The Light-elves, (The Vanyar).
The Deep-elves, (The Noldor).
The Sea-elves, (The Teleri).
The Dark-elves, (The Avari, or the Moriquendi).
The Nandor.
The Eldar.
The Green Elves, (The Laiquendi).
The Wood Elves, (The Silvan).
The Grey Elves, (The Sindar).
The Half Elves.

I personally don’t see them bothering to address any sort of lore for customization, which is a shame honestly.

Thank you for being the calm voice in this utter dumpster fire, by the way.

I actually have yet to look at it. I might just go do that now.

Yessss. Or if not these races specifically, maybe some customization options for them.

But let’s be real, I’d love to see these races specifically.

This is the only time I step towards a more “anti” mentality and it isn’t even that. I’m just not really on board with changes that homogenize too much. If that makes sense. Void Elves and Blood Elves should be distinguishable from a glance. Even if they did make both with high elf customization options. Just like, while I’m fine with helf customization options for Velves, I don’t want it at the expense of velf stuff. It’s one of my favorite races. I’d hate to see it get too watered down with another race’s options.

I’m 80% sure night elves are WoW’s wood elves.

This isn’t D&D

I’d also argue saying that HIgh Elves are just Tolkein elves is a lack of knowledge about Tolkein elves, or a lack of knowledge about High Elves

because lemme tell you I have a feeling that folks would be completely down for Elf So Angry He Literately Bursts Into Flame

Panda’s my second favorite race. KT’s are my top tier. As much as Velves are my favorite elf race… they are still like 4th overall.

Also, I want SPIDER ELVES. I’ll sell a kidney. Give me spider-elves!

You are right. (And the Night Elves were also roughly based off EverQuest’s Wood Elves.)

Chris Metzen, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2005, 1:55 … 'Blood Elves were chosen as the Horde expansion race in the Burning Crusade because designers were thrilled with how well Samwise had redesigned the classic wood elves with the night elves. And they knew that, “one day, high elves are going to have to get a facelift, too.

I don’t think anyone has abused high elves to this degree ,” Metzen said.

https://www.lby3.com/2005/10/29/blizzcon-chris-sigaty-explores-the-lore-of-warcraft/

Blood Elves were designed for the Horde with a rewrite on the classic High Elf Trope just as Night Elves were designed for the Alliance with a rewrite on the classic Wood Elf trope.
