Correct, DH’s use The Fel from the trapped demon soul that’s inside of them, and the tattoos are arcane runes to counter balance those Fel powers from taking them over.
No No No, is all I have to say. The High elves stole Quel’thalas from the Amani trolls and do not have any “rightful” claim to Quel’thalas. The Amani Trolls are the only race with a rightful claim to that land. The Void Elves are decedents of evil high elves who stole the Trolls land and they are Alliance ughhh… yuck.
I’m pretty sure the aqir are the only race with a rightful claim to that land if you want to go down that rabbit hole. Didn’t the Amani do to them what the Highborne did to the Amani?
Yep. But if we’re being technical and really going down this rabbit hole? All land belong to the elementals. They were on Azeroth first, before being unfairly locked away into the different elemental planes
No no no.
You wanna really get down that rabbit hole?
Azeroth herself is the only one with a claim to any of it.
Hell half the races hanging out on her aren’t even native. And the ones that are might as well be parasites.
Well…I mean…damn it, I don’t have snarky comment for this.
Shakes fist You may have beat me this time mister! But I’ll be back!
I know I’m pretty late to the thread, but this is completely false. For one thing, Dar’Khan dabbling in the void was a retcon introduced in the same questline as the void elves themselves. It’s not like it was some long running thing in the story of Silvermoon. Until the void elf intro, he’d only ever been known as a mage.
Further, the void elves didn’t know Dar’Khan had looked into void magic until long after they had already begun their studies. It was after their banishment from Silvermoon that they discovered his notes. So saying that the void elves are “literally traitorous followers of Dar’Khan Drathir” is simply wrong.
The Qiraji awoke from being dormant and attacked the whole world. It was a world-ending threat at the time. They had to hunt down any Qiraji nest unless they would just multiply again. It’s not like the Amani started a worldwide attack against every other race now is it.
It’s not comparable to what the highborne that would become high elves would do to the Amani, they entered Amani lands, didn’t turn back once they realized, instead they ruined their holy sites and even built their capital on one.
Remember that the trolls, in general, hated the elves for the humiliation they had suffered by the Night elf empire. They had been pushed further and further away until they actually got a deal that all troll incursions against the elves would have to cease, in return they would get to keep the land they had left.
Then trolls did actually honor this deal as they didn’t want to be wiped out, and then the world broke, at the hands of the elves.
Can you imagine then, when highborne night elves (that would become high elves), the very same that humiliated the trolls, broke the world and now breaking their ancient deal by venturing into troll lands to settle. Would not be very liked by the Amani? And why it’s not comparable to the Aqir situation at all.
No the Aqir attacked the Amani, the Aqir started that war. Here’s what happened according to wowpedia " The newly-awoken Kith’ix looked upon the troll civilization with contempt; it was but a pale shadow of the glorious Black Empire which had once laid claim to the world’s entire landmass. The C’Thrax decided that it would be a fitting tribute to the Old Gods if these nations were reduced to ash. Kith’ix now reached out with his mind, seeking any of the Old Gods’ servants who yet lived. It soon found a race of creatures it could control—the aqir. Since the fall of the Black Empire, these insectoids had remained hidden in small warrens and tunnels deep beneath the ground. Kithi’ix now rallied the dormant aqiri swarms, driving them to establish dominance over the continent once again. As the C’Thrax expanded its power and recovered, the aqir began creating a vast subterranean empire called Azj’Aqir. Observing these preparations patiently, Kith’ix watched as the aqiri ranks swelled in number. When its host was large enough, Kith’ix led them from their underground lairs and they swarmed across the land."
Agreed, but your Alliance?? The Alliance are the bad guys.
That doesn’t really go against that persons post or disprove it? It says:
Which means that as the conversation stated was about, who had a true claim to Azeroth land and since the black empire was before the trolls and encompassed the globe their claim is therefore greater in this bit.
The trolls did not defeat or even fight the black empire though. The person said that the Amani did to the Qiraji what the Elves did to the Amani, which is not true.
it’s a lot worse to kill off the native people that live on land compared to move onto empty land that was inhabited thousands of years ago that was “purged” by someone not even related to you, or that you have knowledge of.
This is a fair point, the land known as Silvermoon currently WAS originally a Troll graveyard…seems kinda disrespectful to kick Trolls out and keep them away even if it was an ancient graveyard.
Your “rightful claim” is countered by the fact that you’re a minusciule fraction of the survivors of Arthas and your citizenship has been voided by your forbidden studies.
I’d argue any “Elf” claim to the land is actually voided by the fact that it’s stolen land taken forcefully from the Trolls which used to be a graveyard…I wouldn’t be surprised if it were cursed…
I swear I’ve heard this one before. It seems to go back to the Trolls taking it retroactively from the bugs that tried to reclaim it after being sealed away by the Titans which dismantled the Black Empire, but the Black Empire took the lands away from the Elementals, but then the Elementals themselves don’t have the same kind of claim that Azeroth herself has, which in turn means any Titan-Based race created on Azeroth and is therefor a direct descendant of Azeroth has the superior claim to all lands on Azeroth full stop, second only to Azeroth herself.
At this point though? I’m just waiting for Blizzard to drop the other foot and say the First Ones created all the worlds that would house World Souls.
It’s hard to say how many blood elves and high elves are joining the void elves in time. I mean doubling in the Void it’s dangerous but they don’t need a Sunwell .
I think the Void elves could overtake And rebuild Ghostlands . Or part of Silvermoon maybe with different leadership in the Capital … I mean Romath and Lor‘themar are Bad choice
Well after you’ve built a cemetery on the land it seems mighty disrespectful just to take it and build a city on it, no? Afterall, that’s what the land Silvermoon was built on was when the Blood Elves took it over, a buried Necropolis temple of the local Trolls.
Especially when they left half the city using Shadow magic, which according to the Void Wowpedia page is just weaker Void magics.
Disrespectful? Certainly. Granted by that point the Amani had been attacking them since they entered the lands that would be Quel’Thalas, so I imagine decorum and austerity were tossed out the window. Maybe Dath’remar pissed on the ground first for good measure.
