So I got into a pretty heated debate about this with my boyfriend and eventually he did concede and admit that naturally void elves have a rightful claim to live in Quel thalas.
Interested in hearing other alliance players thoughts on the subject
Edit:
Well can I just say I’m very impressed with the dialog of the alliance players in this thread. I have noticed some horde players have posted here but as I previously mentioned I wasn’t really interested in their opinions on this topic as they aren’t exactly qualified, as such I haven’t read a single red bordered character post but I might do in a follow up thread if I feel I can be bothered. I just don’t have time these days unfortunately.
To my alliance players please keep up the discussion as I am enjoying reading your posts!
Other than the danger to the sunwell, as long as there is peace between the blood and void elves there is no reason they couldn’t (as well as high elves).
Lore has established that both Horde/neutral-affiliated Blood Elves and Alliance/neutral high elves are welcome in Quel’thalas, as they are the same people with the same homeland despite political differences. Void elves, though? They’re literally traitorous followers of Dar’Khan Drathir that present a real and extreme threat to the Sunwell and the health and well-being of all Blood/High elves. Keep us exiles.
Edit: Ren’dorei also no longer “feed on”/passively absorb the energies of the Sunwell or else they would already be exploding. The heart of the Ren’dorei people is no longer connected to the Sunwell, either. They require no access to the quel’dorei font of power, so its restriction from the void elves is no loss at all (unless you’re a secretly mentally snapped void elf out to poison the whole pot of soup, I guess. Or somehow too daft a void elf to understand the threat you now embody.)
So, do you really think the Alliance is going to endorse and use Void-based subjugation/mind control/enslavement tactics when at least two of their races would scream HERESY at the very suggestion? Rogue faction of easily defeated corrupted void elves at best.
During BE heritage quest, Alleria almost corrupts the Sunwell. You’d be dooming the rest of the elves to turn into those withered crackhead elves or join the void.
If we really want to argue semantics, the Kingdom of Stormwind should have already have had a coup given the fact that he’s the #2 person responsible for Teldrassil.
This is true except for one very pertinent fact; they are NOT “followers” of Dar’Khan. Their leader, Magister Umbric, studied notes that Dar’Khan left behind about the void. That is the only affiliation they had with the traitior, if it can even be called that. The only reason Ren’Dorei are exiles is because of their danger to the Sunwell.
This, I could support. From Mists through BfA, Lor’themar has shown himself to be a wise and strong leader…right up there with Vol’jin.
Studying the exact same magic that has been proven to be deadly to Quel’thalas is pretty traitorous, because the assumption is that it can be used again.
It’s kinda like, if after a country disarmed all of its nuclear weapons and an extremist nationalistic faction of that country found blueprints and began building another.
I loved reading your comments this far. A lot of good arguments and points I didn’t consider, which bolster my original theory of the void elf superiority
Lor’themar absolutely abhors Sylvanas so I have no clue what you’re talking about but you’re on an Alliance toon so we shouldn’t expect you to know Horde lore.
Arcane naturally draws the attention of some very unsavory types of beings. Also, the Sunwell’s Holy energies are powered by the energies of M’uru, and as we all know, Naaru are prone to turning Void at various points in time. The combination of the two means that it’s only a matter of time before the current Sunwell is going to be a very bad situation for the Blood Elves, regardless of any Void Elf possible contamination.
