Void Class in Midnight

I would like a class that is fully commited to the Void in Midnight, besides the hybrid Shadow Priest that doesn’t have a clear identity and the developers doesn’t know what to do with it, I think it goest better than the “tinker” class for the next expansion.

The bigger question at had is why they still haven’t brought the Tinker class into the game?

Between WC3 Tinker and Alchemist Heros + the Dazar’alor raid + Mechagone + Undermine Goblin content coming soon they have plenty material to pull from to create a class that is completely different than any archetype currently in the game.

With anything Void however, it is too similar with Shadow. So the justification is very questionable in adding an entire class that is focused around Void as if anything they should just update Shadow or Voidweaver to satisfy to Void theme enthusiasts.

I think glyphs would solve this issue, just make a void glyph.

Yea, never been a fan of a tinker class. I’ve always wanted the ethereals and they use shaodow / void

There was dev footage of an elf using various void magic. It’s possible they could use it to make a class but it’s also seems like it could’ve just been testing for the void magic we see in TWW

Ethereals and Void Magic would just be a new Race and it being able be a Priest which has access to Shadow and the Hero path Voidweaver.

The idea of making a “class” around Ethereal and/or Void just doesn’t seem that compelling and unique enough that simply could be included into Shadow as it has already.

Shadow Magic and Void Magic are essentially the same thing. It’s not like Death magic that deals with decay and reanimation but still considered shadow magic spell school in the game. Shadow and Void come from the same source and the only real difference is Void seems to have a more blue color and its names typically have Void in them. But beyond that, they are basically t he same which means it’s nigh impossible to differentiate between the two in game which basically torpedoes the idea of 2 separate classes welding Shadow vs Void magic without adding a a whole new layer of complexity to justify the separation but still remains grounded and believable within the games lore and history.

This looks amazing wish shadow priest could use them and update the whole spec

Voidweaver hero talent actually does use it a bit with entropic rift and void blast, but yeah a whole update or new class would be awesome. Seems like a missed opportunity not to

Shadow Priest existing in the game shouldn’t keep us from getting a class fully devoted to the Void on every one of its specs.

I think the same way for a Necromancer class. Just because we have DK in the game, it doesn’t mean Necromancer shouldn’t be added.

Warlocks and Demon Hunters exist in the game, and they deal with fel magic and demons just the same. Yet they are two obviously mechanically distinct playstyles, not to mention armor types.

New classes shouldn’t be restricted solely because “we already have X theme”. I think that’s a dumb reason.

The best shot of having another class using the Void theme would be for it to be a melee class.

This is why Demon Hunter and Warlock work as they are fundamentally a different play style with one being ranged and other being melee.

The same thing can be attributed to Death Knights and Necromancers as Death Knights are melee and Necromancers are more known to be straight up ranged.

But aside from a melee take on the Void angle, having 2 void theme casters would just not be unique enough to justify separate classes.

If they did introduce a Void theme melee class, they can go in many directions and I can see being quite interesting and fun.

I think they should dial up the two versions, shadowpriest doing the old god stuff and then another caster which is basically “astromancer” with a damage and healing spec

I’d love a Void class to have at least 1 spec with the “cosmic Void”!!! I love the comic Void effects/colors/animations that Voidweaver has. Your Astromancer suggestion seems like it would be Arcane/Void magic specifically to me.

Oh I wasn’t really thinking about arcane for the class except that arcane mages would probably be most likely to make the transition lore-wise…

I remember Astromancer type mobs/NPCs in the old TBC raids. Specifically, High Astromancer Solarian in Tempest Keep, and the mobs surrounding her would use Arcane and Void spells.

If they can do Demon Hunters and Warlocks, it’s alright. I want a Void Class that isn’t Priest.

Simple enough.

Hm, Void Knight and has a caster Tank spec.

Respect, same vibes for Tinker my brother, hoping we can get both sooner than later. We’d be enriched by both!
