So with all this focus on the void in the war within, why haven’t shadow priests been mentioned? There is all this talk about Aleria and her connection to the void. But how about the priests who pray to the Void and call on its power constantly? It seems like an elephant in the room.
Also, any shadow priests who played during Legion already have a relationship with Xalatath. This seems like another missed opportunity storywise.
Why ignore these obvious details?
Xalatath actually contacts S Priests during the campaign. If you both did her Legion quests and have the Servant of N’Zoth achievement she’ll whisper;
“Yes, bring your ‘allies’ to me, my blade. Drive them to the brink! For you have become the weapon that I now wield”.
In addition to 3 other things depending on which order of achievements you do or don’t have.
Which isn’t much but it’s something. Personally I think it’d be cool if I could use my N’Zoth toy that let me be hostile to everyone again. Only let SPriests with a basically impossible to get legacy achievement do it.

Shadowpriest is in a strange position from a lore pov.
Lorewise, they are fanatical Lunatics who serve the Old Gods/void, but like all other players, they take action against big bads, including Void/Shadow. They don’t even have the fantasy of warlocks, i mean, warlocks fantasy is simply: just being greedy for power and jumping into bed with the first entity who promises them more power.
As much as I like Chronicles, I think that era shoehorned the Shadow Priest fantasy a bit. Much of it since follows the “unfathomable cosmic horror” vibe. Not to mention weakening the Old Gods to the Void Lords.
