Vixx the Collector - Toxic RNG

I have now found the most toxic RNG within RNG in the entire game. Only found in Heroic Seat of the Triumvirate and the MOB itself has a mount level spawn rate. I have killed it 14 times and received Vixx’s Chest of Tricks toy 9 times (32% drop chance) and still not gotten the Unstable Portal Emitter (16% drop chance).

I have entered this instance for 5 days now on 13 characters a day and not seen a single spawn. What a wonderful design to have a mount level RNG chance to even have the mob spawn, but then also have RNG within that. Toxic RNG and proof again that fail protection is required in this game.

Well iv been farming mimiron’s head for the last 4 months on 11 toons and no mount

That one took me 12 toons and about a year:(

At least it was a single RNG too which I’m used too. At 225 kills for Charhound and nothing.

" * Vixx can spawn in both the Heroic and Mythic version of the instance.

  • If Vixx is up a message will appear in the chat as soon as the first boss dies “Ah he he he! What a lovely day for meeeeeee!”
  • If Vixx spawns far away from you or if Zuraal the Ascended dies while you are inside the Void Realm then you might not see the message
  • You can /target Vixx as soon as Zuraal the Ascended dies to check if he is up or not.
  • Vixx can spawn during any active World Quest [For Seat of the Triumvirate]."

Seems like important info. I’m confused, you’ve done this for 5 days on 13 characters and… have 14 kills? Which is much higher than the droprate. You aren’t lucky, but you’re not exactly unlucky at this point either. Certainly nowhere near as bad as the Love Rocket (or whatever they changed it’s name to), the wand from BC’s karazhan which dropped from 1 of 3 opera event bosses, or a handful of other significantly rarer items. This classic BC character didn’t see the boss all through Karazhan, let alone the wand.

Then there’s the infinite timereaver. I had a group of friends back when Timewalking had recently come out, we farmed the hell out of this. 4 or 5 of us, depending on who was available, all with full “twink” timewalking sets. Any of us could’ve solo’d timewalking dungeons faster than most groups could do them. We did over 25000 kills together, and not one of us saw the mount.

Then there’s actually useful gear. It took me over 30 runs to get my first Emerald Coach’s Whistle last season. I was so happy when it finally dropped, and it was only a heroic version. Not even upgradeable.

No I’ve been doing it for weeks. I have seen 14 spawns in those weeks. I would usually see a single spawn a a day with those 13 kills.

I have now killed it for 6 straight days with no spawn (and I use tar vixx).
