Just that, it happens more often when I’m playing Hellcaller that I need to pray for an Agony tick to give me a shard so I can Vile Taint the whole pack bc I used all my shards in previous packs.

I agree it shouldn’t cost shards, but I am having the exact opposite problem. I’m not able to spend my shards fast enough lately
Are you not running drain soul? If not, it’s pretty “mandatory” in most content, but especially dungeons.
Lets you refill shards as packs die.
