VIDEO EVIDENCE... Benediction server is INFESTED with Farming bots

I have returned to WoW after an 11 year hiatus. I have been playing for about 2 weeks.

And in these 2 weeks, I have encountered -at least- 15 farming bots. Yesterday was the first day I decided to record them, because it’s entirely out of hand now.

I found -4- farming bots in Alterac Mountains in the same day.

Here is video evidence. 3 hunters, and then a video of a Horde Rogue farmbot.

removed as specific callouts are not allowed on the forums

This is a huge problem. I first encountered a bot when I was around level 17 in Loch Modan. Now I am encountering more and more all over Azeroth.

Look at the names of those hunter pets. Chinese pet names, exactly described by other posters about their farm bots on their server too.

I don’t really care if anything it’s just something Blizzard would have an issue with

You know the first month or so I don’t think I ever ran into any but I ran into four in the last few days alone. Maybe with the population dipping due to P2 the bots are standing out more. They’re always hunters too.

or Warriors or Rogues. I have seen them too. Video shows a Rogue too.

You ever sit in front of Botanica for a few hours?

Blizz doesn’t care.

Automated gameplay is against TOS. Why do you say they don’t care?

I thought Blizzard simply wasn’t aware of a new bot that they haven’t detected?

Because they choose to not put enough resources in to policing this crap. It’s been like this for years now, and is the reason farmers still exist. If they chose to police better or more effectively then farmers wouldn’t have incentive to continue farming.

We’re literally talking about a lazy cost benefit analysis. Now, give me more of your money please

That’s a multiboxer, not bots.

You need to watch the video again.

Mutilboxing is not against the TOS. Classifying it as “botting” doesn’t make it that either.

Further proof that the person controlling them is NOT botting, is at around 1:25 when they attack one yeti, a second one attacks from the side. One of the hunters starts attacking the side yeti. No bot program could do that.

All you would need is -1- employee for every 2 or 3 servers. Create a special report button for “Botting” and then the employee can focus on that. As for detection… Blizzard has that for free. We, the players, would handle the detection, by in game reporting. The employee would go in-game and teleport to the reported bot and check it out before banning.

Easy.

Man, in the past I’ve been crowned the bot/hack finding king of my realm. Blizz could easily document which players provide the most consistent findings, and police better with that information alone. 10+ years have passed since I was crowned lol

And what about the Horde Rogue farm bot after that?

Seeing as how he ran away when you tagged his mob and then attacked YOU, kinda proves he’s not a bot.

I think you’re spending too much time worrying about this “infestation”.

Move on, play the game and let Blizz worry about it.

Customer support isn’t worth the paper I wipe my butt with. They haven’t done a single useful thing in the past 10 years and you expect them to actually DO THEIR JOB? lol aren’t you funny.

Customer service don’t even have the ability to join game anymore. They sit at a desk and look at a text scroll.

There was no doubt there was going to be bots. They’re in every other Blizzard game. When they get banned, a new generation is bred just as quickly. Heck, there may be five different kinds waiting for this one to get hit.

Give it time and once it hits, don’t expect it to be the final wave.

I’m on benediction as well. But why would anyone bot on a pvp server, in a contested zone, where they can be killed at any time? Seems counterproductive to me.

Does being crowned Bot King get you a discount at any of your finer local eateries?

Yeah, bots don’t attack you. I’ve been killing the ones north of refuge point like they were an honor daily for a week now. So that might’ve not been a bot, but they’re definitely around.

That rogue was 100% not a bot just some dude trying to farm his mount while you go between griefing him and helping him lol, no bot script would EVER decide, pop bloodrage when out of melee range, that’s a I’m a dumbass pressing all my buttons move.

as for you “breaking him” he’d just accepted death man, you’re a frost mage in a 1v1 vs low hp melee and you have the opener, not to mention most bots will not PVP since it’s not in their scripting they simply ignore the players killing them as thye continue to kill mobs on their scripted path.

Also that first guy was likely just a multiboxer not a BOT but hard to tell since if someone ignores you because they don’t care isn’t against TOS

You didn’t pay attention, The Horde rogue attacked me because I attacked it first, a few seconds prior. This bot DOES attack you if you attack it first.

You don’t seem to understand that that exact Horde Rogue has been mindlessly farming that same exact spot for the past 24 hours. Look at the two videos, -6- hours apart-, and the guy is still there. The bot predictably only attacks me when I attack it. Otherwise, it mindlessly farms with the same exact pauses, etc. It is a machine with the same movements. No player behind it.
