Vial of sand mount

Ever since I was playing my hunter I have liked the visual of sand mount but nether my hunter or this dk have alchemy is it worth the trouble trying to get it or even if it hurts My gold amount just buy it? To farm it I imagine I would have to lvl a new char then do alchemy and archaeology

I don’t think it’s that expensive anymore. I leveled up alchemy and archeology just to get the recipe, but after hours and hours of looking, I never found it. I just got the mats and paid someone to make it for me. That was years ago though.

It was important for me to help friends level who didn’t have pathfinder. None of my friends play anymore though so

I bought it. The RNG required to get the recipe ended up driving me to the AH.

I gained like 2 levels on my DK trying to farm for the recipe back in MoP. the RNG wasn’t on my side at all lol. So there is a grind for it since it comes from the tol vir jars which appears sometimes and most of the time, it has junk in it iirc.

It really depends on you. I just ended up buying it since I use it to carry my sister around and anyone else really.

I got the pattern. As long as people provide the materials / stock gold cost, I don’t charge anything else. I’ve been tipped handsomely for it though. It’s one of those things. If it’s important to you, go for it.

You should be able to buy it on the AH nowadays for 75-90k. It’s MUCH easier than grinding to get the recipe.

If you’re lucky, find a guildie who has the recipe and you might be able to get it for close to cost.

I tried to find it and make it myself on a alt. But never found it,
and just bought it off the AH. It was around 50k when I bought it.

Much easier just to buy it.

I just bought it with token money. And I managed to get the jewel panther for really cheap when a guy on the AH forgot to add an extra zero to the bid. Pretty sure it was selling at like 150,000, he put 15,000…lol.

youre going to have a much better time of things just farming the gold to buy it, honestly.

I think it took me a week to get the recipe, but that was only 4-6 hours a day.
There is very little profit to be had to buy all the mats and try to sell, you have to grind that out also, but you can as others have stated already, gather up the mats and find a guildy or ask in trade for somebody to make it for you.

You might have gotten that from me, my TSM glitched out once and sold it for around that when I wasn’t paying attention.

That was a rough day :sob: I haven’t bothered making any for sales since then, out of fear of it happening again.

heh…yeah…its FAR easier to grind the 72K Im seeing it listed for right now than the RNG nightmare of trying to get the recipe.
I tried to get it for ten times longer than it took to make the gold, lol.
some recipes just arent worth intentionally trying to get.
If they drop by chance while doing something else, great…but putting effort into it specifically is usually just a huge waste of time

If you’re the same guy I’m sorry. I did give you an extra 7k.

It’s all good, I would have sniped it too if I’d seen someone else’s. The mount market is a bit too competitive for my blood anyways; I don’t have the time some of these weirdos do, to sit and relist things every ten minutes for days at a time.

the thing about this mount is the same as Sky Golem and the new Mk2
you get the recipe, use them once for yourself
then once a month or so you sell the extra mounts you make
EASILY pays for your sub, plus helps you stack for d4 and ow2

Bought it years ago off the AH because the canopic jar RNG was not in my favor. I have gotten the recipe on both my alchs since, and I will say that even rounding up some of the herbs and elements for the flasks can be weirdly time consuming. Depending on what it’s going for, you might be better off buying it.

Then again, having an alchemist alt is a huge boon.

just buy it. what is it? 60k? thats nothing with all these wqs and emissaries giving gold. to get alch and arch up to proficient levels just ro craft would probably cost more than that in raw gold and man-hours; not to mention getting lucky enought to get the reciple in the first place to even make the darn thing. anyhow, gl with whatever your decision is.

I’m stubborn and want the recipe myself, so I haven’t bought the mount. IF you want to grind for the recipe, when doing archeology, you get the boxes when you complete items for any race. You can turn those items in to an NPC in Pandaria (maybe elsewhere now too), and get Tol’vir artifact pieces for them. I also found a site where someone did the math and the general amount of Tol’vir jars you need to complete before you’d (probably/maybe) get the recipe.

That said, that takes patience and time (unless you’re ridiculously lucky), and then you have to grind for mats as well.

I’m willing to bet that most people just buy the mount off of the AH.

75K to 90K? Jeez, I am glad I got it long before Gold Inflation went in to overdrive, I think I got it at around 40K back in MoP, if not cheaper.
