I really do not enjoy pets/summons. Do you think it is viable to play MW without a celestial?
Not looking for world first or anything, just for general mid-tier play.
If you mean viable in like world content through heroic dungeons, sure. It’s a huge cooldown with no alternative for higher stuff.
I wouldn’t skip it.
Yu’Lon/Chi’Ji are both such powerful cooldowns you get every minute * with gift of the celestials talented ). The chi cocoons are pretty valuable too. It’s a ton of healing youd be missing out on just because you hate pets. ( invoke isnt a “pet” btw. they are cooldowns, treat them like any other healer cooldowns )

The Celestial isn’t a pet a really… it’s a buff that you apply.
Shield effect alone is super powerful, makes 0 sense not to take it.

Like others said, there’s no reason not to take it - it’s easily one of our strongest spells. The celestial isn’t even something you control - you summon it, and it preforms a mechanic for a short period. It doesn’t bring up the control pet window or anything - it’s just a healing cooldown with the spell effect being a dragon or crane buddy.

Thanks - I guess that’s true it’s not a real pet. I’m just not a fan of visual clutter.
I’ll take it though since it seems necessary.

It really depends on your goals. If you want to just casually do whatever you want then you can do whatever you’d like. But if you are trying to do higher end stuff you may be inclined to play the “optimal” build. But casually if you just don’t like it don’t choose it !
Yeah I think compared to the other talents taking chiji for the shield alone and completely ignoring the pet otherwise would still be the strongest choice it’s that good.
Not really. It’s an incredibly powerful ability, and the hero talent side Conduit of the Celestials seems to be the more powerful of the two. If you opt to take the other option and also not to take the base celestial, you are severely handicapping yourself. Even in just regular mythics (especially now they are much harder having played ptb) I think not having an on demand massive healing cd will result in a lot of deaths otherwise avoided.
But also just now of all pets out there, the celestials are pretty much the least “pet”. They do their thing completely separate from you entirely and just gain extra benefits when you cast spells you are already casting if you didn’t have them up. You really do nothing but press the button and carry on. I wouldn’t get too hung up on the fact they are pets. They won’t die in pve and I’m not even sure you can kill them in pvp lol and you don’t even need to care where they are on the map.
