Viable palidin build?

I wouldn’t put points in devotion aura. If you’re going to dps you’d want to run ret aura and if you want to run holy you want conc aura. I’m ambivalent about BoM, but I would suggest imp BoW over that one but I wouldn’t do either of them. Blessing of Salvation is much better over either of them if you’re the sole pally in the group. That’s 10 points you could put to some really good use compared to blessings/auras that aren’t likely to be the best choices.

I’m like 15/16/0 or something…will end up as 20/31/0 but if someone was interested in dps’ing, especially wpvp, I’d say 20/0/31 or even more in ret are and were viable/preferred.

I have been having a lot of success up to level 30 healing in groups with the legion/BfA playstyle. The trick seems to be staying in your 5 second regen window as often as possible.

Sometimes this means people aren’t going to be topped off, that is fine. I am literally doing entire dungeons with 0 deaths and 0 drinks. Will this work for raiding? no but you can likely have a judgement (light/wisdom) responsibility as well as hammer of wrath if your mana is ok.

I suspect my current strat will work for all 5 mana content. I specced to SoC and then went into holy for consecrate and increased healing, next points will be in melee crit and then back to holy. Questing has no downtime, and the 70% no delayed casting talent is AWESOME.

Gear makes the class in classic. So i do 3 pieces dps gear (STR) and the rest healing (INT/SPI atm). With the correct gear you can do whatever you want. The problem is in some cases (raiding) it is much easier for other classes to get the “correct” gear and when they do they will out damage you by a bunch.

It’s not mandatory at all, I’d just personally like to have it.

And I’m still experimenting with builds, so even I’m not sure exactly what I’ll end up doing.

I think he’s asking this question, not because he’s curious, but because he’s trying to start a flame war. Just look he’s a tauren.

viable: capable of working successfully; feasible.

Don’t worry about what people call viable. Because groupthink is dumb.

My buddy and I were spellcleaving dungeons back in 2005, and we got a LOT of resistance against it from group members. Now it’s all the rage.

Do what’s fun. Do what works for you. Just remember that to make up for the hybrid tax, you need to use your skills in versatile ways. You won’t be pure DPS, but your clutch heals can save a pull, even if your DPS meter suffers for it.

I raid heal just fine as 11/8/32.

I’ve got full pre-bis Holy with +502 healing and usually do over 300 hps on Ragnaros which isn’t bad at all considering I’m Ret.

I also have 6-manned Rend solo healing with a Bear Tank, Fury Warrior, 2 Rogues, and 1 Mage.

And just the other night I solo healed an UBRS full.

This isn’t 15 years ago when we didn’t know anything. And it surely isn’t the bear that are private servers with the combined issue of min/max mindset and ramped up difficulty.

You can be Ret, Prot, Holy, and do anything fine with the exception of various PvP engagements and farming for gold.

2 weeks of Ragnaros on farm and I still haven’t swapped to Holy. I won’t while I get to rank 11 either. Above that I’ll probably heal premades if phase 3 is out by then.

Don’t be afraid, and ignore the hate.

I’m also Loial who posted in this thread;

you go holy
