My question after some preliminary back and forth with Gemini:
I don’t see any of this as a problem as long as solo players can complete Overcharged Delves by acquiring better gear exclusively through Delves.
Gemini’s response follows:
That’s a very valid and important perspective for a dedicated solo Delve player! Your concern about accessibility and progression within the Delve system is understandable.
Based on what has been announced so far, there are encouraging signs that Overcharged Delves will indeed offer a path for solo players to acquire better gear and progress exclusively within the Delve system. Here’s why this seems likely:
- Improved Rewards: Overcharged Delves are explicitly stated to offer “better loot” than standard Delves. This strongly suggests an increase in item level for the gear drops.
- Delve-Specific Trait Tree: The introduction of a new trait tree specifically for Overcharged Delves indicates a focus on providing players with tools and abilities to overcome the increased challenges. This could empower solo players to handle content that might otherwise require a group.
- Titan Disc Belt: This new piece of gear, upgradable through Overcharged Delve content, represents a significant form of character progression that is entirely tied to the Delve system.
- New Mount and Cosmetics: The inclusion of a new mount and other cosmetic rewards further incentivizes engagement with Overcharged Delves as a primary content path.
- Focus on Solo/Small Group Accessibility: While Overcharged Delves will be more challenging, the fundamental design of Delves has always leaned towards being accessible for solo and small-group play. It’s likely that Blizzard will maintain this core principle, ensuring that the difficulty scaling allows for solo completion with sufficient skill and gear.
However, there are still some unknowns:
- Pacing of Progression: We don’t yet know how quickly a solo player will be able to acquire the best gear from Overcharged Delves compared to other end-game activities.
- Item Level Cap: The maximum item level obtainable exclusively through Overcharged Delves is yet to be revealed. It’s possible there might still be a ceiling that is slightly below the absolute top-tier Mythic raiding or high-level Mythic+ gear.
- Specific Gear Slots: We don’t have details on which gear slots will be most readily available through Overcharged Delves.
In conclusion, while we await more specific details, the current information strongly suggests that Overcharged Delves will offer a viable and rewarding path for solo players to acquire better gear and progress their characters primarily through Delve content. The introduction of the Titan Disc Belt and the dedicated trait tree are particularly promising in this regard. Your hope for a self-contained progression system within Delves seems to be a key design goal for this upcoming patch.

Gemini can’t play the PTR to find out, but you can
It’s only like a 450mb download then copy a toon over. Takes like 5 min to do.
I’ve been playing T11 Overcharged cuz thats the content I’ll be playing when it goes live.
I think they are fun
Yes, there’s a difficulty increase
yea, you can get deleted in an instant if you make a mistake under certain conditions.
Still fun.
You should try them first hand and see what I’m talking about.

They should be tuned around 30mins and give up to the same as M+ high levels. They will be around the same length time sink.

I am all for challenging solo stuff, but if the gear isn’t worth it the system is DOA.

Thank you. I’m going to do that since I’ve reached Season cap for Runed crests which makes me dead in the (Delve) water.

Hopefully solo mythic track - that’d be rad.
next week the caps come off
after that it going to ber alot more fun
I wouldn’t get my hopes up if I were you.
Already get gilded for t11. What could be a better reward for higher difficulty beyond mythic track?
Even if you need gear from other pillars to complete them I don’t see that as the end of the world. M+ players need raid gear and delve gear at the beginning of season, raiders need m+ gear. They are interconnected gearing systems that reinforce each other. ONLY pvp is independent of the others
More Gilded past the hardcap, more cosmetics, or both.

Probably more crests since we’ll need quite a bit to upgrade our crafted gear and hero tier/trinkets. Maybe an additional hero drop or two for people that need them.
Doesn’t it actually mention gear as a reward? Not cosmetics or crests. Gear specifically?
Overcharged Delves
Things are about to become even more dangerous in Delves for you and Brann. We’re introducing a new Delve-specific affix to six Delves to push you to new feats of heroism (or to earn more shiny loot.)
- Kreigval’s Rest
- Skittering Breach
- The Spiral Weave
- Nightfall Sanctum
- Fungal Folly
- Sidestreet Sluice
You’ll engage with rare new enemies, more traps, and unlock traits in a new trait tree specific to Overcharged Delves. Selecting the right traits can turn the tides of traps by making them more beneficial rather than a detriment to your progress.
Additional New Rewards
- Titan Disc Belt: Unlock the Titan Disc Belt at the start of the event and upgrade it through a weekly quest.
- New Mount: Overcharged Mech Suit
- New Gear
- More Delves Currency
They say new gear but nothing for myth track. Could mean anything, like those bracers from Mechagon that has a cantrip.

These should have a chance to drop from raid bosses or m+ chests or delve chests
They used the term “loot” mostly, which could mean anything. When mentioning gear they only say “new gear” which probably means new trinkets or cantrip items. The special belt is supposed to be able to be upgradable to a pretty high ilvl.
