Can someone tell me how the setup goes for this?
My partner just got one shot for 42k, just looking to find out how it works and what to look for.

You cant prep it like that.
The legendary procs the big damage pulse anytime 3 “charges” are used, the totem has a maximum of 6 charges (3 damage, 3 healing).
If you drop the totem and use 2 heal spells and 1 damage spell it will proc the legendary, and you can proc the second big pulse by using 1 heal spell and 2 damage spells. The order is irrelevant, once a total of 3 charges are consumed the big pulse procs.
So you can’t prep the totem to explode for big damage back to back.
The only thing you can do is make a weak aura and pray someone on your team can snipe it, Moving it is off the gcd, so they can move the totem onto target at the same time they are using the third global, which means you have two globals to do something which is hard because it can be dropped on the other side of the arena.

Hide vesper
Pop skyfury
Use 2 spells (healing or dmg - preferably instants)
Use totem ability to reposition onto someone (does more dmg closer it is w/ conduit)
Use 3rd spell (any dmg or healing)
Instagib!
Cool thing you can do is use ancestral guidance (off the GCD) + healing stream then shift into ghost wolf with spectral recovery talent lol

Still, losing grounding totem is almost a bridge too far to gain that cause you need skyfury + lasso

Vesper totem is just dumb for the game and another example of why’d it take so long for people to try it? I swear I didn’t see a single kyrian sham until there was a YouTube video ab it.

I just pop stormkeeper, ancestrial guidance + echoing shock, then pop skyfury and trinket + racial, then move the totem and press lightning bolt and then someone flops.
only issue with vesp totem is youre playing around a 1 min cd gimmicky totem that will sometimes just randomly disappear or not work. and you have to move it and a melee can just pop it in 1 gcd.

Vesper is beyond stupid lol. They gotta stop adding this kind of stuff. I don’t know if it’s ever gotten me yet but I’ve definitely seen it.
They need to go ahead and axe Vesper ASAP. Trash can gameplay.
Vesper just feels corny and buggy to play with, sometimes it doesn’t even port lol

I dislike how vesper continues to hang around after you use all the charges up. Just wish it disappeared and went on cd after you used all 6 charges.
Very clunky and the only burst in the game that can get killed. Watching dewboy get his vesper killed 4 times in a row vs certain teams makes me never want to try that and I love one shots

This is the correct set up. I’d only add that mostly you need to throw a stun on the target before moving the totem in. Either capacitor totem, or earth ele Pulverize, or a teammates (legs weep hoj chastise etc)
The 3 charges can be used by any combination of healing or damage spells. So like 2 healing spells + 1 damage, or 2 damage + 1 heal… dark iron dwarf racial counts, as does healing stream totem.
Kind of reminds me of Prismatic Crystal from WoD although it works a bit differently.

its very reminiscent of prismatic crystal. you think devs would have learned back then but… naaaaaaah.
Thinking about all the horrible noises mage players made if the tank moved the boss even one centimeter.
