not sure if it’s related but they just released a new nier game and there was some cross-advertising for 14 also, because of the dumb nier raid series they did in 14. could be nier fans checking it out

Edit: Google trends doesn’t mean a whole lot considering there are so many factors involved when it comes to searches and why people are looking up information on the subject.

FF14 also recently did a pretty big advertising wave recently with a lot of commercials.
It also has a significantly more advanced trial than WoW.
Additionally, to throw some common sense on the altar of alarmism… Just because people are searching for it doesn’t necessarily mean that more people are playing it.
That said… I do vastly enjoy FF14’s story more than WoW’s. As far as pushing buttons goes FF14 and WoW are about the same for me. Ever since Legion and the GCD changes WoW has lost its superior button pushing feel in MMO’s for me.

XIV just released a new patch and their expansion is coming soon, so it’s time to play catch up or join now. Recently had a returners log-in. Nier: Replicant just came out and the games expansion raids is based on the Nier games and everybody loves Automata so…
It’s got a lot going unlike Systemlands lmao.

This makes me think its a troll post since your insulting the player base of FFXIV. but I’ll respond anyway cause why not.
It’s because FF14 is truly a superior game and the #1 MMORPG right now.
The community is very nice with a small amount of toxicity that gets reported., the director LISTENS to the player base instead of making unpopular changes that makes us hate it more(like WoW right now…), their transmog system is superior and allow you to be a gentlemen in a fancy suit to monk-themed, to heavy plated head to toe and anything in between…oh and you can DYE armor and weapons and accessories! They also did heavy advertising and still do to get people to play.
Furthermore, the stories there are written with 300 IQ genius writers who design good plot twists and use characters appropriately, not throw them away whenever they feel like.
Also “weeb” is now a term that lost all meaning so you using it makes no sense. It orignally meant someone obsessed with Japanese culture to the point of copying it and talking about it non stop. Playing a video game from Japan does not make you a weeb. If that was the case, almost everyone in the world is a “weeb” by your definition because they played a video game from Japan.

Contrary to your statement, i’ve done some pug farming on there for mounts and some used voice chat due to complex mechanics…they were adults. Adults were playing FFXIV(as am I an adult playing FFXIV), not teenager or children.
FF14 has a much larger international audience than WoW, that’s a major factor. The reason WoW trends on Youtube is from Nostalgic old players who no longer enjoy the game but still enjoy watching its content creators like Asmongold etc.
