I’ve only capped out a Paladin and Hunter so far, but all the way thru the questing zones/ dngs / heroics / world quest/random item drops i’ve seen a mass amount of versatility gear. Almost on all plate dng gear there is versatility. Why is this? isn’t this considered a PVP stat by the community first and classes only prioritize it if all other stats run so poorly (usually means the class is bad) Had many past experiences with this before on a druid where vers was our best stat. Seems like it’s either intentional or overlooked but its honestly alienated me from certain dngs because they quite literally drop nothing useful at baseline. I think gear needs to be relooked at to have better variety in stats because this is bad. I mean look at City of Echos, Priory of the SF, Dark Flame Cleft. Almost every plate item has vers on it.
Versatility isn’t a PvP stat, it’s just a stat that has more value in PvP. It makes sense to have it in both PvP and solo stuff (like leveling) because it helps with survival. Blizzard probably thought it was a good stat to have while leveling, while more optimized gear would come from group content.
You want PvP stats, you get PvP gear. Honor gear is cheap and gained through PvP activities. I have seen honor geared players with 30%+ versatility. Meanwhile a nearly fully heroic dungeon geared player like myself is at a whole 16% haste.
The truth is they don’t like giving out haste/crit items, they just flood everything with Versatility or Mastery.
Nope. There are still classes that will stack Vers for PvE. Mistweavers used to. Not sure if they still do.
But I agree in that it’s way too prevalent in all gear right now. I guess that’s for leveling, to help people. But Haste seems so scarce to me outside of crafted pieces.
Lol.
So target gear that has your BiS stats on it?? Some classes have Vers and Haste as their 2 BiS stats and go for that.
