In the comic Windrunner: Three Sisters, Vereesa claims she hopes the blood elves are one day “redeemed”. Pretty sure that ship sailed long ago in the right direction. They’re to the point now where some of them have Holy Energy overflowing form their eyes. (Yellow eyes customizable option.)
We have to follow Illidan’s lead - what he did to Xe’ra to redeem the Army of Light - to save the Blood Elves from their evil Light overlords before they get radicalized like the AU Draenei and Yrel.
Vereesa of all people saying she believes the Blood Elves can be redeemed is equal parts ironic and stupid. High five to Sylvanas for shutting her down there.
Shut up, Male Human Paladin.
The Windrunner sisters in general tend to suffer from the fact that the world isn’t what they specifically want it to be. No wonder Vereesa has never had much success mending bridges with the Sin’dorei with that attitude. Same applies to Alleria who got all pissy that the Sin’dorei didn’t drop the horde the moment she brought an offer from Anduin rather than bothering trying to learn why ‘her people’ made the choices they did.
Oh and well Sylvanas I think is pretty self explanatory.
Lor’themar probably would have taken the offer if it had been Varian. Lor’themar probably would have felt that Varian could have protected him from Sylvanas.
I’m not really up to date on modern lore so I am not sure what the yellow eyes are about, but Vereesa helped me kill blood elves so you’re wrong because she is smrt.
These guys just joined Sylvanas on her little genocidal crusade. I’d also point out having holy energy flow though you does not mean you are good/holy, just ask the Scarlet Crusade.
You aren’t caught up with lore from Burning Crusade? Wow…you are behind the times…
Both high elves and blood elves draw from the Sunwell, so the high elves will eventually get the golden eyes too. In another decade or so there literally won’t be a single difference between the high elves and blood elves beyond whatever group they’re affiliated with. And with peace on the table now, the two groups being at least somewhat unified is more likely than ever.
I thought she helped me kill blood elves in like MoP or Legion, but who knows? This has been in the toilet for ages.
Yeah. The Naaru.
That why we need to lose Silvermoon before that happens! Let the High and Void Elves have it. Us Blood Elves need to go back to our Fel drinking ways!
I don’t know. That was prior to the War of Thorns and really Lor’themar didn’t have much reason to abandon the Horde at that time, particularly since his people had spent the past few years building a relationship with the Horde.
I doubt Lor’themar knew what was going to happen with the War of Thorns before it happened (hell, they didn’t even tell Baine about it and he was local) and in the aftermath the battle lines were pretty much drawn. Plus the Three Sisters comic happens before that genocidal crusade so obviously Vereesa wasn’t refering to that.
Then redeemed in the sense they joined the very faction they once swore to destroy. Again, for all Lother’mar hypocritical rantings, it was the Horde who once tried to wipe them all out.
I can think of 4 factions in the past 50 years that have attempted or aided in an attempt to slaughter the Blood Elves, including the Alliance. If the Blood Elves refused to make nice with someone just because they tried to kill them, the Blood Elves would have no friends left.
Supreme Commander Garithos, leader of the Alliance’s forces tries to slaughter them. But he’s long dead, so by all means Alliance send an ambassador we are open to hearing what you had to say.
Scourge tainted the Sunwell, slaughtered 90% of the population. But what’s this, you’re a group of undead not lead by the Lich King and in rebellion against Arthas. Yes, we’ll trust your military aid in the Ghostlands and open a relationship with you.
What’s this, the war before last you allied with the Amani and tried to burn our city to the ground? But Doomhammer is dead, and Zul’jin has no part in your current organization. Okay, lets talk.
Hey, you turned your back on a centuries long relationship, and locked us in a dungeon knowing we would be slaughtered en masse the next day. Going so far as to actively combat us when we attempted to escape. And the same people who ordered it are still leading your group. Apparently we’ll still help you and there’s a large number of us still eager to have a relationship with you.
What are you talking about? I literally just said that the whole ‘redemption’ bit by Vereesa was before Sylvanas even started the War of Thorns.
Or are you talking about them joining the Horde? Lor’themar joined a Horde in BC that was drastically different to what they ended up with Garrosh and he even considered leaving at that point. Hell one of the reasons they joined the Horde in the first place was because the Alliance wasn’t exactly opening their arms to welcome the BEs at the time.
As for Hypocrisy, literally every group in WoW are hypocrites. That is true for the Alliance as it is for the Horde. The Horde my be more morally bankrupt and, well, prone to random acts of evil and cruelty (cause Blizzard has no concept of subtle writing) but the Alliance holds it’s own when it comes to hypocrisy.
Garithos is dead, and from the looks of it most of the Kirin Tor proper were hiding outside the city at the time.
Even before then we know Sylvanas was gonna go to war with the Alliance, the assumption would be she would have the full support of the Horde at the time.
Oh the Alliance has had its failing as well, still doesnt change the fact Lother’mar speech was hilariously hypocritical at the time.
“From the looks of it” is codeword for “according to my fan theory.”
But that’s exactly my point. For all your ranting about Lor’themar’s ranting, agents of both factions tried to wipe out his people, neither of those agents are still part of the respective factions and at the start of Burning Crusade he treated the Alliance and Horde the same way.
The hypocrisy is yours for trying to insist that the actions of Doomhammer in the 2nd war are more significant than the actions of Modera and Garithos in the 3rd war.
We know Rhonin and Vereesa were hiding in the mountain during Warcraft 3 after Dalaran fell, how many of the others are unknown but I doubt any of them approved of Garithos’ dealing and at worse could not stop him because he was the only one with an army at the time.
Doomhammer killed more high elves then Garithos ever did. And Modera, again at worse should could not do anything even if she wanted to. The blood elves should be more than aware of how that is like.
