The only soulbind linked to the Venthyr class ability is Theotar’s “Wasteland Propriety” which is an optional and pretty boring effect that requires you give up a potency slot. This seems weird to me because all of the other covenants have at least one core soulbind that is linked to casting the class ability. Instead of using this mechanic with Venthyr’s core Soulbinds they opted to have us rely on RNG to proc them. This leaves abilities like Soothing Shade very unpredictable. For example, the odds that my Shadowpriest will get a soothing shade proc in a raid fight that both aligns with my CDs AND is in a spot I can stand is very slim.
It would be nice if, for example, we could proc Theotar’s Soothing Shade much like Night Fae can choose to proc Field of Blossoms by casting their class ability(with a variable duration based on CD). Or if Nadjia’s Thrillseeker gained a big chunk of stacks from casting your class ability (letting you better time it hitting the threshold) like how Niya’s Grove Invigoration gains stacks from casting the class ability.
I used Night Fae as an example but Necrolords and Kyrian have similar abilities linked to casting the class abilities or improving them.
