So Covenant Sanctums ALL have an “Anima conductor” in them.
The Venthyr one can be upgraded for 5k anima to stage 2. This unlocks TWO new locations.
a.) Pridefall Hamlet.
b.) Court of the Harvesters.
Pridefall Hamlet is BROKEN.
The quests take literally AGES like a FULL HOUR OR SO to complete. You need to run around the ENTIRE MAP and gather “rubble” or whatever. soulinfused rubble? But point is you need 100 of these. Each pile (and they are very spread apart and don’t seem to respawn) gives like 3 or so per.
And the reward?
70 animae.
2 offerings.
AND NO YOU DO NOT EVEN GET REPUTATION FOR DOING IT EITHER.
This is beyond broken. For a quest that takes an hour or so to complete, rushing between some of the most concentrated areas of enemies in the entire game there is no way 70 anima is the intentioanlr ewards.
Then don’t do it?
Arden also has a daily quest to collect hooves or something. After about 10 minutes and killing 20+ mobs, I got 2/20, and I simply never attempted again. Why bother?
I haven’t bothered upgrading the Anima thing or the mirror transport past rank 1. They just don’t seem worth it for the amount of Anima they require. Sure third rank you get the portal to Oribos but jeez for that much anima?? I’ll take a flight path thank you very much. The party thing maybe worth it for the mogs/other stuff I hear you can get from it but think I’ll skip the others outside rank 1 on the mission table for any other characters.
I have fully unlocked the conductor and I have never once done that Quest because I saw the 100 requirement and looted a single Rubble pile once and they gave me so little that I knew it was a total waste of time. I was doing the mini-bosses and the gargoyle Quest basically everyday though because they were reasonable
Well it isn’t broken (as in bugged or not working) it’s just a time sink.
They aren’t required, if you find the time sink not worth the effort, don’t do it.
But just on the design perspective, these types of quests are pathetic. It was no fun collecting 20 zheva hooves back in the Barrens but at least then the theory was that we might be learning to play and it was a way of teaching us how to handle mobs. But I think by the 50+ levels we should have a pretty good idea of how to do that. These types of so-called content are lowest common denominator on the creative scale, and Blizzard really should be ashamed to offer this to customers as worthy expenditure of their time/money.
I did the quest to open up the next set of mirrors. I don’t remember it being that bad. And if it was, I kinda expect it to be. I mean, it’s a major component of your sanctum. I guess you weren’t around in BfA where you had to complete like 5 trips to the islands to collect Azerite against the alliance. That took WAY more time than an hour to get to the next upgrade tier. Even if you did those expeditions back to back you’re talking about 2 solid hours.
I’m unsure what the complaint is. Is it that it takes time and the upgrade wasn’t handed to you on a silver platter???
Seems like there’s a lot of complaints about people wanting to do very little and get great rewards these days…weird…
I did those quests like one time and decided I wasn’t going to bother. At least the other quest it opened up is kinda fun and actually evolves the more you do it.
I have tier 2 of anima conductor on both Necrolord and Venthyr. The Venthyr dailies seem to take about 3x as long (at least) as the Necrolord ones. I think that is the biggest issue more than the amount of time, huge imbalance between covenants.
