I know shadowlands will not have allied races and even if it does alliance will never get venthyr. But a part of me thinks it might happen. What are your thoughts on this?
It seems like many souls that get sent to be venthyr are horde races. Grimtotem, nightborne, orcs, trolls, goblins (greed). They seem better for horde tbh.

They have freakishly large hands. They seem more horde-like to me. Kyrians seem to be more alliance.

I think if we’re going by lay out…like obvious exits and entrances to Horde or ally fortresses - Sinfall is obviously meant to be Horde. While, /sigh, Alliance gets the fairies and angels.

I think you’re not paying enough attention. Venthyr (as any other covenant) are not a race, they’re souls that can come from any race, once redeemed some are chosen to join them and transform into one.
Trade factionalism for elf monopolization?!

I like the idea of Death being the great equalizer. Wouldn’t make much sense for the denizens of the afterlife to side one way or another with mortal affairs, especially mortals from one world squabbling over land rights.

I have a feeling if we do get allied races from the covenants, they will all be neutral.

Well yes and no, the original Venthy’r come from Sire Denathrius (don’t think too hard into Denathrius having “kids” it’s just weird…), Vorkai and Faeries are naturally occurring races within Ardenweald (both spring from the very environment as the Winter queen wills it), the Maldraxxians/Kyrians and to a degree the Ven’thyr are many of them artificial, but some of the SL covenant members are indeed an actual race…

Why would a bunch of dead souls from a different plane, who chose to become helper monkeys for the realm of death suddenly decide to care about reality?

None of the models for races in shadowlands seem robust enough for even an allied race.
if i was from shadowland i wouldn’t want to have anything to do with the alliance nor the horde. the living can solve their own problem.
whats that? the dev’s wanna shoehorn me into the next expansion? but my afterlife D:!!!

Aside from Kyrian, none of the races we’ve met would make any sense as an AR. Most can’t leave the SLs and Venthyr would be very unhappy and uncomfortable on Azeroth.

I’d assume by the fact that Mawsworn are basically ex Kyrians that they can, even being capable of physical interaction somehow…
Why would they not? After all, the health and functioning of the SL as a whole relies almost entirely on anima, which is accumulated from living souls in the physical living plane, no souls=a slow death for the shadowlands as it consumes itself for lack of anima.
