These might be personal gripes but I greatly dislike the removal of Illuminated Sigils and the changes to Fiery Brand. It feels like Vengeance will lose a unique aspect that I really liked, that some of their defensives worked through debuffs/dots. They were fun interactions.
I’ve loved Illuminated Sigils since it was introduced back in Dragonflight specifically because of its interactions with Sigil of Flames which, prior to that, was forgettable. I’ve always been drawn to the Sigil mechanics of demon hunters and it seems like Sigil of Flames will revert back to its previous state.
The changes to Fiery Brand are giving me the impression of clicking shield wall or meta which seems dissatisfying when compared to live.
Is there no middle ground that could be found? Is that style of defense that problematic? Could Fiery Brand at least tie it’s damage reduction to Sigil of Flames? No need to wait for burning in flames. Something like the inverse of Aura Mastery for holy pallys but based around Sigil of Flames. At least that way the cool interactions with Charred Flesh and the feeling of Illuminated Sigils can be preserved.
while yes it was fun, it was ultimately kinda weird because it gave vdh a not to talked about weakness, aka environmental based damage from mobs
while yes IS would be missed, i dont think its removal would do anything of note since SOF is still very strongly tuned in alpha. we will still be pressing this and using it as a solid threat tool.
i believe that is the intention, brand is now a self buff mostly cause of the dumbing down of wow as a whole, no more tracking debuffs on enemy using plater or other weakaura/addon things. while i feel like this is a step back for the game as a whole, we knew this was coming and frankly my opinion on it is probably wrong.
the game has turned into “weakauras the game” with various bosses over the years being nearly impossible without weakauras. some specs needing weakauras to master. which i feel is just kinda silly.
I’m never said that it doesnt spread. It just doesnt have anything to do with the defensive interactions I mentioned.
Also, the self buff might be mechanically superior but it’s boring. Outside of building and spending I’m just going to be pressing my demon spikes, meta, or brand to reduce incoming damage.

Maybe but if there’s room for Demoralizing Short + Booming Voice to exist in Midnight there should be a way for Sigil of Flames to be a similar style of debuff defensive.
i rather not think about it, im actually very pleased with the changes we got. infact it outweighs the losses by a solid margin to me
obviously stuff can be better, but alot of my wishlist has been checked off for vdh so im not really going to go on a crusade to bring back stuff they removed
especially when it was removed due to new game philosophy.
but im not going to discourage you from syaing your concerns. by all means, just dont become one of those people who become unreasonable when blizzard doesnt listen
I’m not asking that they undo any changes just that they consider making Sigil of Flame a defensive again (in some way that aligns with their new philosophy). Akin to the Warriors Demoralizing Shout which seems to have remained unchanged which leads me to believe that a debuff defensive isn’t off the table.
