It’s pretty bad when I, as someone who plays more than one void elf, am kind of starting to feel awkward about all the fuss around the race when so many others sorely need more attention
Honestly, I’m not going to be surprised when people start posting that they’re getting harassed for making their Velf look like a Helf. The whole situation is bonkers.
Glad about the black and white. They make much more sense than any of the others.
But why brown?
It’s not only not ‘voidy’, it’s not even ‘elfy’.
You win the thread!!!
that’s actually really cool tbh, I’m very much liking this new blizz that listens to feedback and makes quick changes.
A lot of races could use some love, hopefully stuff like this is on the table for more of them soon.

I mean people on classic were spit on for using the warp stalker mount
It could def happen on retail
Well not spit because, well, yknow
the Blizzard that tries to buy our trust back with copypasta hair colors.
they do it because it works
Doesn’t work for me. I’m considering quitting.
Not over the hair colors themselves though. I’m just not impressed with their careless, half-a’d quick fix style of addressing problems by creating new ones and with them fixing things that were bad on the PTR mid-expansion.
Also not impressed with how selective they are when it comes to listening to feedback and addressing it.

Then just leave, uninstall.
I’m glad they got the black and silver white, but what broke my camel’s back was the brown hair.
I 'm keeping my void elf permanently deleted, they are taking the void out and won’t add any voidy options for those of us who enjoy what they truly are. I enjoy misfit races, and I like character distinction and diversity.
Google the definition of “consider”
I’ve left before, I’ll leave again whenever I’m not happy with the game or the company. I’ve come back before and I’ll come back again whenever I think things have gotten better.
Can we even call them void elves anymore?
Yes. I will be a Void Elf always. I think that part started to be lost when they got the pink skin tones and blonde hair.
Black and White is acceptable (In my opinion) for Void Elves. I mean, Alleria goes white when she is in voidform, even if she’s different. It is the same energy.
Blonde was a big of a stretch and I hope the Helf fans stop asking for more and more. It’s not the Void Elf fans, we are a minority :(.
The helf community got what they wanted and still want more. There is no difference between blood and void anymore. Blizz refuses to add voidy options for those of us who enjoy the void theme.
Hmm… Where is this request thread?
So happy High Elves celebrate
It is extremely telling how catered to the High Elf crowd is, when people that want stuff like Chaos, Fel, and Dragonmaw Orcs are completely unseen.
On one hand I’m really happy that Blizzard is making such a large group of players happy but on the other… I’m really starting to hate Void Elves.
I’m getting there myself. I fully supported their requests when VE’s were first released. They were openly mocked for ‘coming out of nowhere’, but the potential was there.
Fast forward to now, and they’re fully fleshed out: customization options equal to many baseline races, and a ton of classes they can choose from. And they’re still asking for more!
It’d be nice to see them step up and support requests for the other racial customization requests. It’s the tone deaf HElf beggars that are making their community rub others the wrong way.
Not really sure why Void Elves get everything they ask for and everyone else is just kinda…out there, drifting in the wind.
I blame the art teams Monet-esque aversion to black. It has done an already disadvantaged race a crippling disservice.
Let’s call it what it is: Horde-bias. These double standards bother me for some years now. We get everything we want (Zandalari, Vulpera, Mag’har) and the Alliance is always neglected and needs a sex scandal to finally receive some love.
As Vulpera you don’t have the Right to complain. I mean people wanted Vulpera and than … Vulpera happened. You didn’t asked for Vulpera since 2007 ? Right ?
Nah, that’s unrelated. Not invalid, the Alliance totally got hosed on the Allied Race front, but the issues with the Void Elves vapidly avoiding the voidiest color goes deeper than that.
WoW’s long, long had this almost pathological aversion to anything black. Oh, sure, they’ll do “dark grey” or “off-black” - look at, for instance, the Blood Knight Warcloak. It’s Dark Crimson and… Burnt Olive. Almost black, but no, we can’t actually have black. There are a few fleeting exceptions, but generally WoW doesn’t do Black.
Which was a massive disservice to the Void Elves. They have no establishment or history, their lore is a joke, they’ve no relevant base of operations, and they exist entirely as the expression of the developers screaming, “but we don’t WANNA do boring normal elves!!!”
The one thing they and their concept did have was a vast potential for interesting and unique designs. Their thesis, void twisted pseudo-abominations could have lead to some freaky, unique, and really awesome visuals. Tentacles, multiple eyes, writhing tattoos - what they lacked in history or sense could have been made up for by taking their design to the nth level.
But no, we don’t get that. We get yet another blue elf. They bunted on the design and visuals so hard it flubs the one avenue where the Void Elves could really have shined. Just giving them seriously black options, eyes, hair, skin, scars, tattoos, whatever would have set them meaningfully apart, and it would have been called for. They went ahead with vanta-black void at the end of Legion, and honestly? It looked awesome!
But the Void Elves didn’t get that. They got to be light blue with generic white, completely unvoid white eyes and effects. And no, the few “tentacle” options aren’t enough - they look more like Draenei half-breeds than anything void related. They tried to split the difference between “normal” and “void” and failed to satisfy either aesthetic. And that’s why I’m fine with just dropping the “Void” nonsense entirely. They didn’t go hard enough on it to justify it, so just forget it.
It was a dumb idea anyways.
