I’m sure this has been posted 40 bajillion times, but here I am posting it again because it still does not exist. Demon Hunter should be opened to Void Elves and Nightborne. Sure, they may not have gone through the exact same opening scenario belfs and nelfs did, but allied race DKs didn’t either.
With new DH stuff coming out, possibly a third spec, and a new focus on what they’re up to, it feels extremely fair to add two more races to the second most restricted class in the game.
I personally think everyone should be able to be Demon Hunters, Like it’s fine to have Void elves and Nightborne, and I know next expansion is Elf Focused, but I was hoping Draeneis, Orcs, and even Undeads can be Demon Hunters as well.
The question still remains of why would the Illidari be making more. It’s a abysmally low survival rate. Illidan isn’t around and the Legion is defeated. Why make more when more are not needed.
Legion wherent the big threat to demon hunters as u make them out to be. In the illidian book illidian hints to the void being the bigger threat. While looking through archives on a fel world. Blizz has set up demon hunters future targets before legion even launched.
Why would they be the ones making more? While they are the largest organization of them, we’ve seen that others can be daemon hunters, and have existed outside the ranks of the Illidari. We saw a murlock daemon for Lights sake! A willingness (and foolishness) to eat the essence of a daemon is all it takes to become one.
I don’t know about 40 bajillion, but it gets posted every month or so, with the same arguments being made back and forth. My personal opinion, for what it’s worth, is that other races don’t make sense under the current lore, nor would it make the story better to change that.
The story also confirms that all a demon hunter is, is a demon that retains its normal mortal moralities with regard to protecting their people, world, what have you.
Anyone can become a demon.
Any race is sure to have people with the willpower to retain their mortal moralities.
Which might make them a new hero class, but would not make them the specific elf/demon hybrid, with specific training, that Illidan used to create his Illidari.
