Does it really have to work this way? That the only way the Man’ari can be accepted with the Draenei is by being converted and removing all fel influence?
This was a great chance to give the Draenei story a new layer and more diversity compared to the Lightforged.
We already have Velen “questioning” things from Legion. We now have warlocks with the Draenei. Why not just make the union about a collaboration of their forces to reunite their people in strength against coming threats and for a new future?
“Cleansing” the Man’ari and having them converted to the Light feels stupid and a waste.
Edit: Also I’d like to add that the ideas of Conversion and Cleansing are frankly a gross concept in today’s age, and Velen himself should be against it after what he witnessed in Legion.

Are they converting to the light? All I’ve heard is hints of the quest and not the context. If someone can spoonfeed via link, though…

Apparently the reason they won’t have any fel scars or otherwise is because they will be “cleansed” of any Fel, and will be seeking penitence form Velen for their actions and the Light

I mean, being a Man’ari Eredar is more a matter of political allegiance than anything. I don’t know about the ‘re-accepting the Light as their one true savior’ story beat, but I can totally see asking them, “Hey, so, like…are you going to stop working for the Legion?” And expecting a “yes” to let them romp around Stormwind, getting drinks at the Pig and Whistle.

Hmm I’ll wait to pass judgement until we get our hands on it. The ones so changed by Fel may not be joining us because they are that far gone. Renouncing their ways just may be renouncing the war against their own people, they can still be practicing warlocks, after all.
My biggest fear is this will be yet another important quest related cosmetic that DKs won’t be able to use. Necromancy feels pretty on brand.

We don’t know what Penitence they are going to get.

While we don’t know specifics of what the penitence is (though we can highly assume it is Velen allowing them to come back only if they use their abilities to help the Draenei and cause), we do know some information so far. The idea they won’t have any fel scars or tattoos because they are cleansed of it speaks volumes, and also would play towards why they would have the “gift of the Naaru” ability.
Hmm dark rangers still have blood elf rangers and high elf customization still has you use void powers. Don’t dig too deep. Lol. I would defintely ask for those fel eyes and fel scars as customization. From what was datamined it’s just skin tones for now. But dranei were disabled on the ptr due to a bug. So who knows.
So you’re just upset there aren’t Fel customizations?
I think lore-wise it makes sense.
While I would love fel customisations, it’s the context of it.
The idea of them cleansing the fel from them gives no depth and is frankly off.
It’s a great opportunity to give Draenei a more unique story that they desperately need when compared to Lightforged.
The man’ari waged a war of extermination against the draenei for twenty-five thousand years. Every draenei alive has seen countless friends and allies fall to the Legion. That they’re being allowed into the society they hounded for so long at all is astonishing. Letting them do so without renouncing their old ways would be incredibly foolish, even by the not-all-that-high standards of draenei leadership.

It was only days ago that forumites were complaining that Draenei Warlocks don’t make sense, and now they are complaining Draenei Warlocks make sense… Peak forumite logic.

Renouncing the legion makes sense.
Cleansing them shouldn’t have to be a thing. They even worked alongside demon hunters barely that long ago.

We already got the warlocks, let’s just keep it going.

I mean… Yeah.
Fel like that is bad.
Just like too much Void is bad.
To be fair… Draenei women are considered one of, if not, the hottest combos in WoW. Blood Elven women are still jealous over that.

And that ended in one of their precious windchimes being reduced to enchanting dust.
The Legion and the power of fel - of chaos, and destruction - are inseparable. The Legion exists to bring chaos to the universe, and for no other reason. (Admittedly, because they thought it was better than the alternative, but all of these cosmic powers think they’re better than the alternative. Let’s face it, you don’t get a lot of people going around saying “yeah, we’d suck if you put us in charge”.)
Turning away from the Legion without turning away from the fel is like telling your friends you won’t invite your friends over for pizza, and then inviting them over for chicken wings instead. It’s a loophole, not penitence.
We’re not jealous about those… those… floozies!
I’m less concerned about man’ari losing their fel fissures than I am about the man’ari ladies losing their abs.

So much this. Fel is just the cosmic force of chaos. Remove Sargeras’ cruelty and the Eredar don’t need cleansing from Fel any more than a Kyrian from the Shadowlands would need cleansing from Death.

Adding man’ari in the first place is a bit ridiculous for draenei, though I like it and want them anyway. That being said if they’re going so far as adding man’ari then they should go all out and add them as they are instead of watering them down into bland recolors that share zero resemblance to the man’ari they’re supposed to be.
Correction. The Draenei chose to defect from the Eredar the day Velen got outvoted in his own system of government, joined the Naaru’s foreign regime to oppose the majority of their own people, labeled that majority “Man’ari” to fit Velen’s Light-leaning narrative, then conducted 25,000 years of terrorist guerilla warfare across the cosmos, until by destroying the Burning Legion they brought about the irreparable collapse of the largest and most advanced civilization to ever span the Twisting Nether.
In conclusion, Garrosh did nothing wrong.
