IMO i just watched a bunch of streams where people got really not fun rewards from the vault. why not just have the vault give you a token of the correct reward level that lets you spend the token(s) on something thats useful for you like that trinket your targeting or a weapon ring something like that.

The vault exists so they can force a timegate of rng that people cant play around in the hopes they stay subbed for longer.
It is instead of myth track in m+ dungeon chests.
It is the same reason they have raid lockouts.
They think the game wont stand up on its own and have to be antagonistic to the playerbase by ripping all control over loot progression from them.
They are making it not stand up its own by doing so, it really is a self fulfilling prophecy systems design fail.

I think if I’m playing on a character who has 5+ slots that aren’t myth track, I should get at least one of those slots in the vault and not three of the exact same slot. Unfortunately, one of mine this week got 3 trinkets, and all 3 were worse than mid-tier heroic options. I ended up taking one just to have a slot to upgrade later for the achievement. It was that or let a socket sit in my bags until I get lucky and get a myth piece to put it in elsewhere.
Even just an option to reroll once would be pretty fantastic. I don’t think that’ll ever happen, but it’s so incredibly demoralizing to put in the effort to fill the vault, and get absolutely nothing sometimes multiple weeks in a row (happened to me last season a couple times). If it weren’t my only upgrade path as a non-mythic raider it wouldn’t be such an issue, but I doubt I’ll ever be able to dedicate 2 x 2-3 hour blocks weekly to raiding again at this rate.
The vault is essentially a bonus roll.

Show us what m+ key level has myth track in its end of dungeon chest.
If m+ did drop myth track, Id be able to ignore vault and have a desire to play.

Oddly enough, enchanting allows me to make wands but not offhands … would be nice to make say a magic lantern or something. It would still kind of suck though as you would need twice the sparks and enchanted runes vs just making a single staff.
What’s with the high cost of using 1h weapons? Double the upgrade cost too. It’s so bizarre.
