Vault Catch Up in S3

Extremely good idea to let people “cash in” on vaults whenever they’re ready, just giving one more “vault opening charge” every Tuesday instead of auto-completing them and starting a new vault on reset. Great for alts you decide to play later in the season and people who can’t log on every week (military, holiday, busy work week, etc.).

So what does this mean in simple English?

In order words: we want more loot thrown at us.

Sounds like weekly vault without doing any content.

Can’t you already claim multiple weeks’ vaults in a row if you did them but fell behind on claiming them?

If this is about letting alts get catch up vaults for the vaults they missed and didnt participate with. No.

Do you want it to work like the current cartel chip quests? If you go for a few weeks without playing or doing any proper content for good for rewards, then you can do extra work in one week for multiple vault rewards?

Like, if you missed two vaults then the following week you do 30 +10 keys for 3 mythic items in your next vault?

This is a good idea, but they don’t want you to play when you want, you have to play on their schedule. So it won’t happen.

i think that is what it is

I dont see a need for this when the new campaign questline gives you a new set of armor

It penalizes people who actually do the vault early in the season

I’ll bite. How so?

You wait until you have higher gear, and can do higher m+/raiding to ensure when you spam you “catch up vaults” its higher gear than you would have gotten previously.

Yeah using the vault for anything lower than mythic gear would be like using a delve key or bounty map in a delve lower than 8/11. You’d be wasting it and losing out.

How do you get the higher gear if you don’t open your vault?

Is the implication here that 100% of all gear upgrades come from the vault, and no where else?

It’s the only place to get good gear. Unless you raid. Nobody really cares about drops, you can farm full hero from 6’s and everybody can do 6’s since the season 2 changes.

But to jump to the end of this, yes. I’m fully ok with the subset of people who can’t get 10’s done the first week but who also care about mythic gear to be able to get one or two more chances at mythic gear per season.

Hero gear is good gear.

The idea of treating “spending a vault open” like a catalyst charge is neat!

Are you saying that (say) 4 weeks into a season, you’d go run 8x M+ on an alt, open the vault, then immediately run 8x more and open again, etc? I think this would be fun on alts and allow people to take a week off here and there without penalty. It feels like all upsides to me. The cap of +10 for vault slots is low enough that people “holding” charges for a few weeks is very minor, minmax-wise.

How would this work with raiding though? I feel like this would only make sense on the raid row of the vault if raid lockouts were changed pretty seriously.

You’re already wasting a vault if you’re not getting an M+10 that week, now you could choose if you want to waste the vault or wait and get a 10 done.

Good for you, then choose to use your charge to collect the hero gear in the vault instead of waiting until you get a 10

Yes. If you do the raid and unlock three sltos week one and then only unlock 2 slots week two but dont open on week one on week three you open the first vault with 3 slots then can open the second vault with 2 slots.
