I never thought drusts were related to the void, does BfA archeology explain a bit more what are they or why most of them are so strangely aggressive?

As for how Drust got Void Magic… They got it from Thros the Blighted Lands which is stated by Blizzard to be the Emerald Nightmare(https://youtu.be/8nGnT6WZbeI?t=380)!

The Emerald Nightmare is a realm of Void, Death and Life combined! The Shadowlands(the Realms between the realms of Void, Life and Death) on the other hand is just Decay/Void(stated to be the same thing in WoD’s Nagrand) by itself.

The Shadowlands has constantly been visited in WoW but the Death Realm has only been visited in the Battle of Dazar’alor when fighting Rastakhan it seems.

Epic categorization, Yven. Thanks for taking the time to chronicle it all. Now I’m trying to wonder how many “shades” of Light there are besides Light and Holy?

There’s definitely a distinction to be drawn between the powers of the Old Gods (incl. the sha and Xal’atath) and those of the Void Lords (incl. probably corrupted naaru). And then there’s the death powers - the Shadowlands, Thros, Bwonsamdi - which might just as easily be either or neither of those.

N’Zoth uses the same Void Magics as the Void users in Mac’Aree in Crucible of Storms so…

Why the Nightmare and Twilight have different forms from N’Zoth’s favored type of Void Magic seems tied to N’Zoth trying to hide his presence as he switched to straight up Void Magic(with star filled tentacles and everything) during his 8.2 invasion of the Emerald Dream(which was after we discovered N’Zoth’s involvement when fighting Il’gynoth).

The Magics of the Deep seem to be only used by Corrupted Tidesages who haven’t turned into K’thir as the ones that have turned use normal Void Magics.

13 Paths of Life(which is formed from Sparks of Light), 11 Paths of Void, 6 Paths of Order(Moon, Time, Space, Replicating, Azerite and Mana) 3 Paths of Chaos(Chaos, Fel and Dreadflame of Sargeras) and 3 Paths of Light.

It’s interesting how the broken off Sparks of Light that became Life managed to make their own unique paths while the Light still attached to the greater whole which is focused on the One True Path somehow managed to have 3 Paths(albeit the 3rd is simply the Legion shoving Fel into a Sun Crystal in order to force a merge of Light and Fel)!
