What about my sap, cheapshot, stop attack so I get 3 free combo points while target is still sapped, Expose armor stop attack so target is still sapped with -1500 armor Macro...? So I can open up with a ambush, backstab, CB Evis macro.
Are these going to work? if not then GG.
I don’t see why not?
Why wouldn’t they? it was vanilla after all, haha.
yes, macros do work in classic. but you cant just throw anything together. obviously.
like for example; hunters needed a macro for petattack, because auto assist wasnt a thing until bc. but you could also couple it with hunter’s mark. but that isnt recommended outside of pve. since hunters in raids, had to coordinate when it came to hunter’s mark (one mark allowed at a time). so two macros, was okay. one for raiding and one for pve. with and without hunter’s mark (used manually during raids).
petattack, bestial wrath, was also a good combo. and you could also include trinket procs. in case you didnt know that.
to clarify; you need to create new macros in classic. though the same strings.

They likely won’t work as written. Forexample, I still had most of my Vanilla macros and not a one of them worked on the Demo. While I knew they wouldn’t and just to be complete, I also downloaded some version 1.12 addons from curse and none of them worked either.
However, it took very little work to adapt my Vanilla macros to the 7.3.5 macro API of the demo client. Don’t know rogue abilities so if your macros exploited any of the gaps in the Vanilla API then you’ll probably be out of luck.
If you want to check your macros out, though, try to run 'em on a retail client and see where (if) they break.
Cheers,
They brought this up during the Classic panel, I believe. If I remember right, he said something along the lines that the old macro API was too open and the new API had some extra features that didn’t exist back then and that they are going to try and find a middleground there.
It sounds like it won’t be the classic API but it also won’t be exactly the retail API, since they were very short on details we’ll probably have to wait for alpha/beta and see what they plan to do with it.
