I recently leveled a shaman and chose Engineering for her profession however I can’t find the engineering trainer for the old original wow stuff. The trainer in Org only trains Cataclysm, I went to Tanaris and the engineering trainer there…well, it says he’s a trainer but he offers nothing but some text to me.
Can anyone help me with this? Am I missing a questline and if so can someone point me in the right direction? I’ve been at a few sites and I have yet to find anything.

Something’s odd here. The Org trainer for Cataclysm engineering teaches basic (“vanilla” 1-300) engineering as well, and I don’t think you get offered Cataclysm engineering until you’ve chosen engineering as a profession–which is what teaches you that tier (along with the first few schematics).
My conclusion is that you’ve already been taught basic engineering and won’t be offered any other schematics until you’ve skilled up with the ones you know.

When I trained in Org the only Vanilla skill I was offered is
1 Rough dynamite
2 Rough blasting powder
I crafted the rough blasting powder until it turned grey. I crafted the rough dynamite till it turned green. I am at lvl 50 in the old engineering. I was thinking well surely the trainer will offer something more since one is greyed out and the other one is green but when I visited the trainer in Org it still only reads Cataclysm (already known) So I flew back down to Ratchet thinking that perhaps Bliz moved that part of the training from org and he only offers Cataclysm (already known) as well. I am currently in the process of flying back to org to grey out the rough dynamite to see if that works.
Everything else I have is for Cataclysm. No handful of copper bolts or any of the other engineering items.
Also Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. I have a couple engineers already but I have never run into this problem.
Update…At Org and crafted the rough dynamite to level 60 and it is now grey, checked back with the trainer, he still does not offer any more skills.
The skill 50 schematics are taught by Roxxik in Org. He definitely should have them.
Either (a) you have a filter enabled in the training UI that’s hiding the schematics you need, or (b) something has your local UI settings botched and you should try a UI reset to unbodge it.

I didn’t think to check that pesky filter. I was running around looking everywhere for a few hours now and the filter was it. I don’t remember ever having an issue with the filter before and it’s probably why I didn’t notice the ninja change in the setting.
