Vanilla Account, but no beta?

My friend is playing right now and his account was made in WoD. There surely has to be other factors you’re not telling us about, Blizzard. Also, what’s this I hear about name reservation in the closed beta that you can only get invited to if you’re a streamer or by some arbitrary method of selection?

Really getting frustrated with you guys. Still actively subbed to BfA for months, vanilla player, been around since the beginning, BlizzCon attendee but I don’t merit an invitation.

Kinda insulting, tbh.

EDIT: And before you ask, yes I have the beta thingy selected for Classic. It’s not that. I triple checked. :frowning:

Yes. Blizzard said there are other factors.

That’s not true at all. Everyone gets to reserve names at the same time. Names in the beta have no impact on names when the game actually releases.

You’ve been misinformed, or lied to.

You’re not entitled to anything. Being subbed forever doesn’t mean you’d be a good beta participant.

It also doesn’t mean I’d be a bad one, but it does mean that I’ve been around for a long time with no bans on my record and a genuine love for the game, even during the lows.

That, to me anyway, warrants an invitation. If not, then what does, exactly? I’m not the only one who feels deeply underappreciated by this. It’s not about entitlement, it’s about feeling a part of something big. You ever hear of loyalty?

I get that you are passionate and excited to play Classic WoW but please remember that they did state that only a small minority of people will be able to play the Closed Beta. It’s not personal. It is what it is. Move on.

Not a clue.

The beta is not big. Wait until the game actually launches if you want to be part of something big.

Hence why I made this thread, to try and get an answer or two. You’re no longer helping.

You realize how long some of us have been waiting for this, right? No? Didn’t think so.

there are.

in order of invite priority, from highest to lowest.

if you’re a high profile streamer.

if you’re the press

if you’re a popular youtuber

and then after that it’s pretty much luck of the draw, only press and high end streamers are really guaranteed access.

I too have a Vanilla account, and I too am not in the beta. You are not alone, there is literally thousands of us, only so many people can get into the beta, and for advertising purposes preference is given to streamers.

Do some of them deserve it? God no, but they draw attention to the game, so here we are. Just wait a bit longer, play some other games, it’ll be Aug 27 in no time.

Really? Seemed like it was to complain. Not once did you actually ask what the other criteria were; you simply noted that you did not meet them and you were frustrated and insulted by that fact.

Just as long as you, I’m sure. You’re not special. You’re one out of millions.

Looks like youre going to have to wait till Aug just like the rest of us.

I know, which seems ridiculous. You’d think the vanilla players who actually had significant playtime in Vanilla who are still loyal to the game/company after all these years would merit an invitation?

I have characters with PvP titles; no invite.
My friend I recruited to the game in WoD; playing right now, haha.

Just feels… kinda dirty.

You’ll be a part of something big in a little over three months. Sit down, have a beer, relax. You’re not getting an invite. Nor are we. I played from the beginning too, with an active sub still.

They probably sent your invite by text, don’t you have a phone  ?

There are 50,000 - 100,000 more players exactly like you(Players subbed since vanila).WHAT makes you better then them ? WHY you should be the chosen one?! Honestly you are so selfish and reading your post disgust me.

Because I was chosen by Tirion Fordring himself to wield the legendary Ashbringer.

It’s a good thing these streamers are getting preferred access. Classic needs all the good press it can get. I mean, how many of you even knew there was a Classic in development before the streams started? It’s not like there was a massive public outcry or anything.

So you and 1 million other players actually meet this criteria, most of them won’t get into the beta either.

So this narrows it down as blizzcon had 40,000 attendees, many of which are blizzard fanatics who also play wow and vanilla.

Even still this is way more people than you need testers if you used such ridiculous criteria as who attended blizcon instead of influencers or the best possible testers. You need to consider you’re actually not all that rare of a player or have any necessarily important input. Millions of people played vanilla, many got addicted and many of those still play or have an interest in being in this beta.

You need to be realistic about this, there are a million just like you and 1 of every 100 might be utilized. It’s not surprising your friend is playing as they also need non-vanilla players to give input as many if not 1m + of the people who play in 3 months will have never played classic before, so this data aids blizzard in what to expect.

The criteria wasn’t made by some random one in seven million vanilla player, it’s a product of industry experts who are looking for the best possible launch in 3 months. You can be salty you’re not VIP, and wish you were but you’re actually a grey player among legendary and purple influencers and god testers.

I would love to know what the selection process was.
I played in Vanilla and got it but nobody else that i played with back then did and a couple of them have had their accounts subbed lots more than me over the years.

Maybe i got mine because my hunter is a legend among hunters and can still be seen in its T2 mog with Rhok to this day!
