Chordy will successfully find a Valuable Salvage. I am able to click on it. Despite not moving or being aggro’d while my character gathers it, it sometimes does not count towards my quest progress.

Yup, same thing for me. Just doesn’t count. This quest is just so bugged it should just be completely removed until it’s fixed.
