Since we have to use Valerstones (why not honor?) to upgrade pvp gear, why are we not getting Valorstone when we win or lose bgs? Also, another expansion where I enter warmode, I find myself mostly farming sparks from rares and drop boxes, rarely from interacting with other players. It seems Blizzard is hell bent on keeping these pvp functions alive, yet its the same stale product. Go back to upgrading gear with honor, and give valorstones when we participate in bgs.
Valorstones are used to upgrade only the pve component of the gear does nothing for pvp. I don’t think it would be useful at all been capped on valorstones for months and have 8 full sparks sitting around and nothing to do with them

If you get the basic pvp set you can use valorstones to upgrade enough to do Heroic Dungeons and then LFR (567 min ilvl for LFR). This allows you to see the raid at the tourist level. Those basic pvp gear will PVE cap out at 580.
While in LFR you can get drops for LFR xmogs, then upgrade them to 597 and get the Normal xmogs too. You can upgrade your conquest gear as well. Both these two require valorstones and the whatma hoosit thingies they throw at ya. When ya get full 606 in all slots yuo get a feat of strength and can buy the next upgrade thingies. Those allow u to go even higher in PvE level.
So, not totally useless if a do intro some stuff outside PvP. It also opens the starting doors if ya wanna go higher with PVE. Some of the pvpers here also have very very high pve ilvls (in full pvp gear). That requires valorstones, etc
upgraded pvp gear for pve is wasting your time. usually the secondaries for pve are different so youre going to end up replacing that piece anyway.
