I realize you have a very diverse player base, and you can’t explain your design philosophy to every one and expect them to agree.
I also know you can’t please everyone, so maybe I’m just being ‘that guy’, or unreasonable.
I’d like to advocate for making them to where they can be transferred to your alts.
Failing that, I’d like an explanation as to why they’re not able to be transferred.
I currently have 16 level 80s, and plan on having 26 eventually, 1 of every class, for each faction.
Now, this expansion has been a dream for me because of how nice it was to gear alts, but I’ve done that primarily through delves and time walking.
I don’t do mythic dungeons or raid, and I barely do LFR.
Currently my main is capped on valorstones and it feels really bad to see quest rewards offer valorstones in red, knowing they’ll just go to waste.
I’m to the point where everything takes the highest crest to upgrade, and since I don’t do mythic and raids like I said, getting those is really slow, which means the steady income of valorstones easily accumulated to the cap.
On my alts, most of those are around item level 603 and since they still can use the lower quality crests, their main bottleneck is valorstones.
It would be REALLY nice if I could send my alts valorstones to aid them and keep my main from being constantly capped and wasting valorstones.
Again, this is just my particular situation and I’m surely a minority, but unless there is some really great reason to keep this bound to individual characters, I’d like to ask you to consider making them to where you can transfer them to your other characters.
Thanks for reading.

I reckon they should just uncap them. We get seasonal resets anyhow.
Their drop rate has been buffed. So I’ll reserve judgement for season 2 at this point.
Why should they be uncapped when you never need more than 2k, and people are done with upgrades anyway, if your hitting 2k you dont need more
buffed? in what content? When you only see 3 at a time on a corpse or 10 at the end of a quest, it does not feel good when it takes 100’s to upgrade 1 piece of gear.
I don’t hit more than 2k but OP is having issues according to their post.
I play 2 characters and if I’m capping I just buy stuff from panda lady and sell for gold.

Those with lots of time on their hands and lots of alts to farm valorstones could gain a significant power advantage over those that work full-time and only focus on 1 or possibly 2 characters. Blizz doesn’t want to encourage that kind of disparity in potential power progression.
Frustrating once the majority have outgrown valorstones on their main, so I feel that “soulbound” status should only apply in the initial 75% of a patch… that last 25% let alts get currently bound currencies from their mains. Maybe that’s too much dev $ for the return on investment. Like how many new/retained subs or cash shop sales do they get from that change? If it’s close to zero that’s your answer for why the don’t spend any effort to change it late in the season.
I agree wholeheartedly Cowardpatty and my gameplay is much the same as yours. I deal with people all day, and while I love having people in the World of Warcraft, I’m not always up for playing with them or ready to play when they are. So… I do a LOT of solo stuff. I don’t want to EARN valorstones on my alts because I simply want to play the class and have fun. I have a MAIN for grind. I enjoy the grind on my Main, as she is the character I know best how to play. The others, I want to be curious with and do new things (with different playstyles). Not grind. Thanks for your post.
