Is it me or upgrading items I am currently starved of valorstones, I have a bunch of crests that I can use but always starving valorstones and it feel bad. dungeons give 10 per boss and 30 for final completions and it still feel VERY LOW for the amount of work you are doing. also how come isnt there more valorstone when you do increased difficulty.
Heroic dungeons should yield more then normal and mythic should yield more then heroic. its not fun to always been starved of that ressource and feel too much like devloppers trying to artificially increase the time you spam farming and playing their game and this is not the right way to do that. you just make me want to quit.

Doing a 5 stack echo gives 300. I haven’t dipped below 1000 all week and already capped at 2k again with no more upgrades available to spend them on.

That’s hit or miss right now from what I’ve heard. There are threads of people complaining about getting ~50 for a 5 stack.
EU is doing 40 man raids at the one in ringing deeps. 225 fragments and 400 stones is the hard cap.

It’s always like this at the start of an expansion. It will get easier over time.
Yeah these are coming from people farming it in groups. Some getting that cap. Others in the same group getting nearly nothing.
I think part of it is because you simply have a lot of gear that demands Valor Stones. As your find less and less upgrades this will be less of an issue. Also, when you go to re-upgrade a slot (legs, chest, cap etc.) then the cost will be lower.
On top of that crafted gear can’t be upgraded I believe. But it still has a very substantial ilvl for now, so that’s a way to go if you can craft or buy.
I do feel your pain, I was there, but eventually it’s not quite as bad. Maybe the numbers could be bumped up a bit for newer player, or alts, who knows.
It has diminishing returns. Eventually it’s 5 per turn in and then 0. I have no idea why the devs did this, but I wasn’t super happy when I found out about this.

why how many valor stones would you need to be happy with to complete the content you are doing ?
Valorstones feel fine on my main but they hurt on alts. They aren’t transferrable and they aren’t discounted when upgrading your alt’s gear, and since you’re spending a fraction of the time on that character, you have a fraction of the valorstones.
Since they introduced this system of upgrades I never managed to upgrade properly. Like you said I’m always starved on these stones. Last time I had decent upgrade was in shadowlands. I could genuinely work towards upgrading an item and enjoying the game.
Honestly this is what wears me out really fast. When I run 10 dungeons I barley manage to upgrade one item once is just waste of time. But again there are people who are capped on valorstones

It’d be nice if the Delve quests in the least rewarded some valorstones. Also the dungeon daily doesn’t seem to reward any right?

Either crests or stones should be removed. It was always stupid.

Yes. It’s really difficult on alts but it’s not great on my main either. I’m sure this eases up as the expansion goes along. Though, just looking at delves, I’m left wondering why they drop on any track as you get so little ways to upgrade that doesn’t involve just moving up a tier. And moving up a tier on my alt would be possible if I could upgrade the gear they have currently.

Valor stone has been a pain from regular play.
You only get enough of it if you know where to farm (it shouldn’t even be a thing you farm tbh)
If you have 5 echoes you get the option to do a 5x Memory.
Theres also one you get that’s “mythic” level.
Complete all the stories for all the zones to unlock it.

Valorstones as a mechanic/currency just don’t feel good in general. Why do we need 2 currencies to upgrade our gear?
Am I missing something here, or wouldn’t it just be enough to do all upgrading through crests?

I agree, the fact that they are even in the game amazes me. They are literally only a thing at the beginning to hold players back or make you farm some meaningless content over and over. WE already have crests that you need to upgrade which you have to farm from content anyway. They should just remove them imo.
