Hi again, yet another question.
I have been accumulating valor tokens through command table missions. I had heard they were for leveling gear but when I tried to level up some of the covenant gear I have so far it turned out those need anima.
What do I use these valor points for then?
M+ gear upgrades with valor
If I don’t do those dungeons is there a way to convert them into a more usable currency?
There’s a currency trader by the great vault, I think. A broker. Not certain what you can buy with Valor, though

And how are you getting valor from command table missions? Thought valor was only given from m+ dungeons and emissary faction quests.
This image on Wowhead shows Valor as a reward for one of the missions. Maybe it’s a bonus or a high level mission?
Mythic plus gear is upgradable with valor in stages. You need certain ratings to upgrade.
That one icon that looks like valor is a case of two different things having a very similar icon. Promises of the Praetor is a mission that unlocks more missions and that happens to be the icon they used. I’ve got like 3 chars i regularly run missions on and i have never seen valor as a possible reward on them. Lotta soul cinders, ash, and mats though!
Ah… then I don’t know! 
Some of the rare missions that reward pets or weapons also seem to award valor.
Will double check next time I see one. I have seen those other quests that reward campaign advancement.
Edit: maybe I was mistaken. Will check when I am done at work.

Just double checked. I have 815 valor, not sure where I got it from. All I have done in shadowlands beyond the campaign to unlock treads of fate has been, campaigns, some wqs, a few normal level dungeons, callings and the command table.
