In 10.1 on multiple characters and the weekly crafting collection quests are missing (i.e. BS Large Tools, Alch Gorloc Snot, etc.). The weekly quests from the trainers are all there as are the crafting order quests.
Did I miss something in the patch notes or my time on the PTR?
Yeah, I’m not seeing the engineering quest either. Hope they fix it soon as acquiring knowledge points is already a slog. I’d hate to lose out on one source of them.
Same here. It seems I only got Inscription, Alchemy and JC quests from the NPC’s who are to the left of the Crafting Orders area. All other pofessions(Enchanting, Engineering, Tailoring, etc) got nothing.
Interesting point so I checked it. My non-70s are able to pick up one of the collection quests. Doesn’t matter if they are a single crafter or dual-crafter, there is only one quest available.
I love patch days when everything wonks out.
Now to see how much longer the in-game support window takes to load to submit a bug report!
@Xylandia
Yeah, it makes no sense. My 67 Alchemist/Herbist was able to get the Alchemy and Herb quests.
My 66 Inscriptionsit/Herbist was able to get the Inscription and Herb quests.
My 68 JC was able to get the Pungent Gem quest.
Yet, my 68 BS/Miner, my 70 Enchant/Tailor, my 67 LW/Skinner and my 70 Eng/Miner got nothing. LOL
I did not have the quests on the two characters I checked. I just finished the new zone intro quest (up to 600 Feet Under to unlock world quests). Then switched characters and both the normal profession quests AND two bartering ones for the new zone are there on it.
I have no idea if it’s linked to that, or Blizzard fixed something while I was questing.
Edit: The quests all seem to be in Zaralek cavern now so I guess they are blocked until you unlock world quests for there on one character
As Rezzik says profession quests open up when you unlock world quests in the new zone and the new quests appear to be mostly in the new zone.
The two skill drops from mobs and the two skill items you can get from disturbed dirt etc. still drops in the same places. Disturbed dirt etc. in the old zones also contain flightstones and occasionally whelpstone crest fragments.
Well, I only am missing the weekly Engineering quest like getting drops from primalists etc. on this main (didn’t have time to look at my alts.
But just from the caverns, I havee received over 20 knowledge points for Engineering alone, and many for mining as well. I was wondering if that was a catch up thing or new stuff to replace the other quests.
@Xzanthar
Were these were quests that you did to get Engineering points? It would make sense for Bliz to move the weekl quests to the Caverns so people can still get points with the new content instead of doing old content.
Just in case anyone is confused and looking around Loamm for the quests to unlock after unlocking the world quests in Zaralek. The quests are in the same place they used to be in Valdrakken. There’ll be a new Niffen NPC there.
Last night I did a full pass through the new content on my main - all the new campaign up to the timegate, all the WQs and all the side quests - and this morning my level 70 crafter alts are being offered weekly quests in Val without having been to the Cavern at all yet. But they are not the old weeklies, like Gorloc Mucus or Gnoll thread etc, they are 10.1 specific ones set in Loamm.
Which is fine. I imagine their aim is to have us all operating out of Loamm and just let the original Dragon isles be a sub-70 playground for now.
That would be fine if sub-70s were still being offered all of the quests they could pick up in 10.0, which they are not. The profession weeklies specifically are really wonky. Logging in and out my 66 Mage, she was sometimes offered the Tailoring quest and sometimes the Enchanting quest, never both, and once she accepted the Tailoring one the Enchanting one has stopped appearing for her altogether. Same quest behavior for my two other non-70 dual-crafters that I’ve checked.
I suppose this might be Blizzard’s way of incentivizing getting to 70, but the behavior should be consistent which makes me think this is an oversight bug. Also since the PTR up until last week was still offering the 10.0 weeklies as before even while testing the new ones.
Well, when I ca.e back and on my alys the next day, there was a new queat giver, one of the molemen, and he gave my engineer three quests. One for cooking, one for mining and one for engineering.
My LW skinner only had one, I didn’t look at what it was as I had to log off to deal with an emergency.
This new guy gives both the new profession quests, and the new Barter Brick quests.
The profession quests are just like the ones we used to have, except the targets are in the new area now. They reward knowledge points.
Barter Brick quests are the same for everybody and will require items from two different professions each week, but they reward Barter Bricks, which are the currency for the new vendor recipes we’ll want to have to be competitive.
The Barter Brick quests were briefly (incorrectly) available to everybody but have been hotfixed to require Renown 3 and completion of the Barter Brick intro quests in Loamm now.
