Looks interesting.
But as Akadruid says, I’ve also never heard of it. Marketing is a big factor to new MMO’s.

Hopefully it’s good though.

Gonna give this one a pass. I LOVE survival games, but real talk, those obsessed with Vampires make furries seem quaint.

Ehhh. Vampire Diablo with survival aspects seems…niche

Looks cool to me. My only concern is players say they abandoned a previous title and are worried they will do the same to V rising.

Whats the V stand for? Revengence?

Is it free?

Vampire. Vampire Rising. It makes sense if you read the lore of the game. Vampires have been gone from the world for a while and are only just returning.

Dunno. I think you pay to own it, not sure if its a sub. Its not an MMO like WoW is, might not even be an MMO but it has other players.

Is it some new MMO? Also never heard of it until clicking on this thread…

Wait. This isnt a wow thing? Whats this post have to do with wow then?

Nothing at all other than sharing a game with fellow WoW people who like vampires who may like it is all.

Check it out honestly because I can’t probably describe it accurately. its on steam. Not to play yet but you can see videos and such. It’s isometric view, you’re a vampire and there are no classes or levels as far as I know. I think its more based on gear and skills? You have to build your castle/base and retake the land from humans and other monsters and can ally with or kill other vampire players. It was said it was a “Vampire survival game”.

Companies selling “Early Access” and players eating it up is how the industry got to where it is right now.
Half finished(or less) products shipping with the “we’ll fix it later” attitude.
Now they don’t even pretend because people eat it up.
Sometimes they even pay extra for it.
It’s not f2p for anyone wondering. Visually looks like D3.

I recommend the castlevania series. And the unpopular but actually decent lords of shadow 1 and 2

Never heard of it. Watched the video and seems worth a look. Ty for the heads up.

Likely not.

I kinda wish some game dev would take an established universe like Dresden or Junkyard Druid, etc. and make an actual good game there.

My problem with new-universe MMO is there’s nothing to build on. Let’s be real. Even if you’re a hardcore, end game PVE or PVP player, you can’t do that all the time.

A lot of people do, don’t get me wrong. But then those are the people who have found an equilibrium to keep playing while they aren’t playing. They’re leveling alts for more tier chances or just to play endgame in a different light. There’s only so much progres you can make with your character before reset.

Anyone who’s been in the genre for a long time knows MMOs are all about player created fun. Yeah, slapping the raid or pushing rating is fun, but what made you fall in love with the game was just exploring. That first wash of discovery while you explored a famous place like Teldrissil or Ashvale or Durotar or the Barrens.

Following a dumb quest or finding an Easter egg is way more memorable than scratching a boss off the todo list, from the LK to the Jailer. Off the top of your head right now, boots are you wearing in your character?

It doesn’t matter. And that’s the issue with new universe MMO. They don’t have a world to lean on to drive that, so they have the double wide issue of having to be a fun game and to build a compelling world and they have about 5 hours on average to make that case. It’s a huge disadvantage.

There are pitfalls too, some things make great books but not great game mechanics. Also, if you do it wrong or in a way the fan base didn’t expect, you’ll have some very motivated detractors.

But in the end, I wish we had another crack at like Star Wars, or a new one at any of a dozen different YA book series.

Never even heard of it. WoW, FFXIV, and ESO is enough MMOs to fill my time…don’t need more.
