One of the biggest issues with Ret is our utility table. Ask yourself Mr. Dev why are you working for blizzard? You have a skill set that not many people possess. A lot of it could be your programming skills, your data management skills, graphic design skills, etc. This makes you a viable option for blizzard’s dev team for the ret paladins.
So knowing this, why don’t you look at ret paladins? Do you want to bring us into raids when we can’t offer brezs, raid buffs, damage reduction buffs, speed buffs, portals, cookies, or anything that would help us get a boss down in your beautiful raid encounters? This is what a vast majority of us complain about on the regular and we need our voices to be heard.
This is actually my biggest problem with Paladins in retail. I play an HPally in WoTLK and I have so much to offer. Seals, Blessings, Hands, auras…
Modern day pallys have like nothing. I guess there’s the ability to make your mount go faster and then there’s devotion aura… Ret aura is borderline useless in a PvE setting as you don’t want to be dependent on people dying for the aura to be useful.
WOTLK was the paladin with utilities for days. Like you had blessing of kings wisdom and might. You had all different types of seals. Idk why blizzard made us this way. It really does not make sense.
You think I care if its weeks old? I just want to see change to my ret paladins. Voicing your opinion and complaining seems to be working. Look what they did to our tier sets from doing all of it. Who knows what they can do next. You should try it sometime for your survival spec. Im hearing they ripped ya souls out
Knowing blizavision they’re probably only going to give us another spell that damages yourself or kills you to help others, because that’s the only thing we should get, apparently lol.
You lost all credibility when you said you enjoy DF beta ret, sorry.
Slowing down our spec while simultaneously not adding even a single new and exciting addition to specifically ret is asinine.
And just to be clear br isnt going to help ret.

Holy has AM
Ret has nothing the other 2 dont do better.
You will still ALWAYS bring a prot/holy over a ret in every single imaginable scenario, when you need pally utility.
Rets got NOTHING new or exciting, in reality all thats happening is ret is losing utility from SL (must choose between loh, freedom, hand of hinderance, cleanse etc) losing mobility from SL, lossing spec rotation speed from SL, same crap defensives etc.
Like someone PLEASE point out to me a single addition for ret to get excited about, cus even exorcism is a pale shadow of its former self, it doesn’t even give HP! With the.proc nerfs and hp generation nerf why doesnt it give 1-2 hp??? Why make consecration give hp when NOBODY wants it in ret instead of exorcism?
There was spellwarding and loatl for ret, but the devs figured it would be wise to remove them. This whole alpha/beta has been incredibly demoralizing for paladin (ret specifically) players. Which quite frankly should absolutely be the opposite for a company that makes video games for entertainment. Theres just no excuses anymore.
You are speaking like the heart and soul of the ret community we support you in every way. People like this hunter who thinks he enjoys being ret will never understand how and why we feel this way. All these classes get everything sugar coated to them meanwhile all of us ret pallies have to hand over an arm and a leg in order to get into groups. This is mentally abusive. We do not play any other class because WE ONLY WANT TO PLAY RET PALLY BLIZZARD!!!
I think everyone who has played Ret and loves the class should play it in DF. Hell , I may even do it. I was planning to main a Boomie. Never mained pally in all the years I have played so it may be unfair to say what I saying not knowing first hand the Bs ret players have had to deal with. My point is play ret in DF and bring your experiences back to the forums as you have always done. Don’t stop with the feed back , double down on it. Pallies deserve so much more love then they get . So if you have it in you don’t up on the class.
Honestly it’s being extremely generous to consider any of it “meaningful”.
From cheap “gotcha” posts to capslock spewed lies their posts show more petulance than the posts they complain about.
Ion took over as director, too many abilities and to many people using abilities they shouldn’t in raids so the prune happened. The prune happened to quote blizz “too many confusing abilities and buttons to press.” So basiclly people in raids were using abilities that were not good for what they were doing and blizzard removed those dumbing down the classes.
Abilities like seals(which I love and love on my wotlk paladin) and blessings, and auras for paladins were removed. Shamans lost totems and other abilities every class lost abilities. And those of us that want seals, blessings, auras back are getting push back. I want seals returned to paladins what you see are seals in talents that are passives and not the return of seals. Its disheartening to go back and play wotlk paladin and think this is the best the paladins have been because we still have the utilities and all the flavor that blizz took away. And we had not been infected with hp.
See I like tanking and ret. I think all 3 specs should get access to all 3 flavors just change it for the role.
Give ret seals that deal with dps auras focused around dps and same with blessing.
Give prot defensive seals, auras, and blessings.
And give holy healing seals, auras, blessings.
This way all 3 have access to our flavor just their own version even if its just 2 seals, auras and blessings its still gives them something that was a big part of our flavor until the prune. Before Ion started changing the game to how he wanted it as director.
