Uther's soul split

Relatively new here, but I had to see if anyone else noticed this.

During the new Afterlives: Bastion cinematic, right as Arthas splits Uther’s soul with Frostmourne, there is a very specific sound and a visual associated with it. Did anyone else recognize it? It sounds and looks exactly the same as Azerite.

Now if we think back to the end of Legion, after Sargeras plunges the sword into Silithus, we have the cutscene where Gallywix shows Sylvanas the Azerite and she comments “This changes everything.” It’s at about this point where she completely goes off the deep end before the events leading up to BFA.

Could this mean that Azeroth’s soul is shattered just as Uther’s is? Is part of Azeroth’s soul locked up somehow or somewhere within the Shadowlands? Is Sylvanas actually trying to save Azeroth?

Sylvanas is one of those “end justifies the means” types.

She very well might be trying to save it. Or ya know… might not…

Hard to tell just yet

Nice observation. The colors of the soul split match up with Azerite colors too. Maybe it’s a coincidence, maybe not.

If you ask me, Sylvanas went off the deep end back in legion when she tried to enslave the Valkyr in stormheim, she just kept diving and diving after that.

As for Uther’s souls split I’m more convinced that the Light saved part of his soul while Frostmorne took the other part. The part that was saved was the typical yellow color we typically associate with the light in WoW and he asked the light to save his soul as he died. Not to mention Uther has nothing to do with Azerite.
