Just cleared Utgarde keep on heroic on my main and after killing final boss went back to use the shortcut out and it’s not open. Is this a bug due to killing the boss too quickly or has the shortcut been removed? Or is there something else required to trigger it. It’s been awhile, but I don’t remember doing anything fancy to open it. We just ran back along Tyr’s terrace and fell down the hole…
You are correct. It did work and it clearly doesnt now. Very frustrating.
As I type this I see the message to the right and I counterpoint that if this were at least acknowledged I wouldn’t need to revive this…Please fix.

Annnndddd follow up.
It works on heroic so maybe it was only supposed to work on Heroic and not normal.
Editing. This was true for my Hunter but this DH I am posting on Final boss is dead and the door isnt open.

It hasn’t worked all expansion. I just assumed it was intentionally disabled to make people run out the long way.

Still not working. Its a veeeeeeeery frustrating walk back to the entrance.

It’s been bugged for almost 15 years. If you smite Ingvar before he transforms to the his ghoul form the gate will not open. So wait 3 seconds after he is resurrected and his cast is completed and you shouldn’t trigger the bug.
Please fix! especially with the collectors bounty folks are running this on repeat. A real pain to have to run all the way back
