Using Various Attack Animations

Hey, Blizzard, and denizens of Azeroth. So, I was just staring at my character as usual on the screen while playing WoW and thought to myself “Ya know. I really miss the old Templar’s Verdict Animation in MoP, and the judgement Animation as well, and I like how the casting animation looks on orcs.” So then I thought I’d come to the forums and give my thoughts on the matters of attack animations.

So, WoW has had a lot of changes to attack animations over the years, some animations are cooler than others but what I would love is if we could just choose our own animations from the past and even the animations from the present. Then, let’s go overboard and say everyone can customize their own attack animations on any char with any ability. Wanna do Death Strike? Nah, instead you do the Rising Sun Kick animation. Get my point?

All in all, I just want more variety in how my character moves and feels, yeah the new animations look pretty cool now, but I would just like to be able to customize how my character attacks.

Anyway, thanks for reading my post, Blizzard.

Fun idea but I think that gets tricky, especially when you start getting into channeled animation and how they would look like if replaced with something else etc. Could get messy is all im saying.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure model rigging plays a huge part in why animations aren’t used the same on all classes and races, so, it’d be a lot of work to try to accomplish something like this, but the community would love it.

@gene no you see your a dummy head and thats a dumbo idea please never post on the forums again thank you

I have noticed a lot of homogenization as far as animations with the new models. I understand it makes development easier, but it does make things feel more samey and homogenized, too…

Well, the thing is every race uses the same attack animations now instead of they’re race specific animations. Unless your casting, then your still using your race’s specific animations, except for a few exceptions. Which is more the reason we should give players the chance to customize animations and whatnot.
