Using taverns instead of dungeon finder

The current system of LFG and finders damages the communication and contact between players, getting random players in the groups and then been teleported directly to the dungeon so when we finish everybody just puff and never see each other or don’t say a word in the entire run because they know nothing from each other.

So what I suggest is not going back to spam text in chat looking for people like before dungeon finders appeared. What I would like to see is the right use of locations for this activities like taverns. A new system that if you want to find people for dungeons and raids you go to that place and met the people with the same interest you have, and not only use a few buttons in a UI menu to automatic band with random people.

The process of making a party should be more organic, been in person with the other players, sit in the table of a tavern or in a guild hall and so actually met each other and see what can they do together (which obviously people will check their ilvl and see if they can actually be a viable party) I know this would take a lot of effort to make it work like setting a table for each activity and some new UI to help players to identify it, but I think is possible. But if in the future Blizzard dares to make player housing real, this too can make the game feel more alive.

Of course I know some people won’t like the idea since we all are used to the current system and don’t waste time doing all of that, which I suggest to make it optional.

But the main thing I would like to see is I chance when you need people for a dungeon you know where to find them and go there and say “Damm that Orc warrior looks strong I want to party with him” and the rest of the process of course depends of the players decisions.

Everything you just said can done with your guild, i understand you want a more uniting community feeling but what you put forth as an idea could end up being more harmful then good, thank about it this lvl 10 dk who replied adding nothing to the conversation people like him will abuse the system to troll others and people would just stop using it, it is better for the community to be placed with randoms just to get minor things done, if you want you raids/keys/pvp feel more likely a community effort/interaction join a guild that has the same interests as you

I remember spending many a night in TBC and classic trying to do instances by forming groups this way and not getting one going.

Nui walks into the tavern in the middle of the mysterious forest

Everyone in the tavern stops what they are doing and looks over at him

He walks all cool like up the the bar maiden, who pours him a giant beer, the biggest beer in the tavern, because he is a panda

He chugs his beer mysteriously before saying “Carry me in my mythic + keys”

It sounds like fun just because I like chatting with people within the WOW community, but at the end of the day, does it really matter if this system is implemented? Because you only have so much time to socialize with people and everything you mentioned it can be done with friends, discord, or even within guilds.

People say this all the time, but literally all it takes is for a single person to start talking about something and other people will usually chime in…

What you’re describing is what guilds/communities are already there for.

So you want a lobby to check the players before heading to a dungeon or raid like in wotlk time.Only problem is the server your on .now if we have a void space where that would be possible for other servers to merge at one point in time, maybe but I hardly think anyone wishes to stay in one spot for the check.

I think it isn’t a bad idea if it is in addition to the current system.

This way it hives people options, which is not a bad thing.

WoW is so efficiency-driven that it’s hard to set aside time to just pause and immerse oneself in the smaller RP parts of living in the world.

The lfg tool for premades basically does this without the tavern asthetic. For the most part we don’t need to communicate. The only time I’ve spoken with my group is greeting everyone when I join or when we are shooting the s**t as we clear the dungeon. Just start talking, you’d be surprised how willing people are to talk.

Sp, basically group finder with extra steps.

I could see this being an interesting thing, but I think it’d have to expand past just being an in-person LFG tool, maybe make one specific part of the tavern dedicated to raid groups and the rest just general socializing and whatnot? This is one aspect where WoW simply falls behind any semi-modern MMORPG, and it would be nice if they did solve it…

This is just more group finder with extra steps

The idea we’d have to go to an inn to look for a group is very interesting. It mighy drag with long searches where you cant leave however.

Excellent idea, make it so we can only use LFG queues in rest areas. I like that

Nice idea, sounds fun. Has a lot of RPG and helps to find people with same interest.
I get we have guilds, but it just adds more option.
