Learning to use raidbot and the videos from youtube look relatively old .
I just want to know if Im right.
When looking at the stat weights all the stats should be similar to each other for best dps correct?
According to the stats it says my crit is 4.36, vers is 4.19, haste is 3.88 . mastery is 3.59 and intellect is 2.33
I suppose it means I won’t benefit much if i stack more crit and vert and I should move some of the crit to haste or mastery instead?
The number represents the amount of dps gained per point of stat.
So in that example, increasing crit by 1 would increase your dps by 4.36, and so on. It’s the opposite of what you said.
However, there is a limitation to using purely stat weight to gear. Just use Top gear when deciding what to gear, as that’s relatively easier and more straightforward.
And get the simulationcraft add on. Makes things really easy. Type /simc in game, then copy what it spits out. Paste into the top gear tab of raid bots. Select the pieces you want and type of sim (can even compare gems, chants, essences, and talents). Make sure you’re under the iteration limits and hit sim. Wait 5ish mind and bam. Optimised gear. Really ezpz.
As others have said, use Top Gear and the simcraft addon with Raidbots. It works quite well.
That said, the “stat weights” section isn’t useless. It may help you to determine whether gear you don’t have is probably an upgrade.
For Stat Weights: higher stats give more dps. So if Crit and Mastery are the highest numbers adding more of them will probably give you more dps than verstality and haste.
That said, the problem with “Stat Weights” is it is only accurate for the gear you have on. As you switch pieces, the weights will change. Crit may be your highest secondary stat now, but if you completely stack Crit in every slot its weight will drop and may become your lowest stat.
The dps from raidbot showed 40k dps but damage addon shows i’m doing 21.5k while recount shows 36k dps damage.
I am unsure what my actual dps is.
From what I observe . My icelance does around 30-40k damage and my glacial spike can hit around 150-200kdps.
I know it’s damage overall in a mythic+ but I don’t believe my dps is that low and its not like I spam icelance and ice bolt without finger of frost.
Do you guys have any tips or should i not be overly concerned?
I want to be able to perform well to help other guildies who have low gear.
Don’t use Recount. Recount has calculated DPS improperly since it was first made. You should use “Details!”
DPS properly calculated is simply (Damage Done) ÷ (Fight Time)
Recount removes downtime from the DPS calculation, so during long casts, you “gain” DPS relative to a proper addon or Warcraftlogs.
Also, when you sim in raidbots, don’t use patchwork, instead use target dummy. Not sure why, but target dummy always gives me a number waaay closer to what I actually do.
Target dummy removes all raid buffs, and you never get to execute.
If you can’t hit the patchwerk dps, you should probably look at your logs and figure out what you did wrong.
