So, I’m a big fan of the Kul Tiran aesthetic and I have a character concept that involves my toon having a large figure. However, this human toon is not from Kul Tiras. Is it frowned upon to use the Kul Tiran race in-game but to RP as being from a different human kingdom?

I have no idea why it would be, there’s no lore anywhere that says that large-bodied humans only come from Kul Tiras.
But on the other hand, there’s always a subset who will try to burn you at a stake no matter how you spin it.

If your character concept involves a rich, and larger full-bodied Kul Tiran (why am I suddenly craving coffee now?) figure, do it. If Kul Tiras can have normal sized humans, why can’t there be larger sized humans elsewhere?
If you’re having fun with it, just do it. If others will take part fine, if not, well that’s fine too! Play the game for you first.

Shoot, there’s people who RP sethrak or mogu or whatever and those aren’t even playable races. I don’t think “this human is a human” is going to be much of a stretch.

I’ve never seen anyone even pretend to care about this, and if they did there’s a whole army of burly ladies ready to tell them what for.
People did it the other way 'round for like, fifteen years, so as far as I’m concerned, fair’s fair.

It’s a human, play them as a human. My Kul Tiran human is actually Stromic, specifically from Tol Barad 
His mother was Kul Tiran but other than that, yeah… he’s just a big Stromic dude.
I see plenty of non-Kul Tirans using the character model and get them in my Boralus taverns on a regular basis with no problems.
As far back as I can remember, orc RPers would have ‘Mag’har’ or other defining clan feature in their MRP/TRP.
It’s all pretend. Sods to anyone saying ‘ur doin it wrong’.
Especially when the RP Council says it’s fine.
Edit: The RP Council that doesn’t exist.
